Back from Venice, where humidity feels almost alive! Still thinking about this incredible human experience. ✨ A glass art installation. And scent as a medium. 🫧Designing the olfactory dimension of CILIA — a solo exhibition by @leadumayet was one of those rare projects — where art, matter, and the senses find a common language.Four elements. Four olfactive scents : 🌬️ Air · 🌊 Water · 🌿 Earth · 🔥 FirePresented at @edbcontemporaryart , housed in a restored 16th-century galleria — in partnership with Women Without Borders (Vienna)Making the invisible perceptible. That’s what this was about.Merci Léa Dumayet, Elisabeth de Brabant & @panamachannel for making it possible. 🤍📍 Dorsoduro 1397, Zattere – Venice · 📅 through 21 October 2026#VeniceBiennale #OlfactoryDesign #ContemporaryArt #glassart by @panamachannel

ACOUSTIC ACTIVATION OF ‘CILIA’25 minutes of dynamic calibrationA live acoustic intervention introduces crystal resonance into the space, where glass reveals light and scent renders the air perceptible as matter. Entering the suspended passage created by Léa Dumayet, invited artist Lidiya Kolodina activates the installation through the sound of a rare glass harmonica, crafted with a specialised glass formula designed to produce a stable and crystalline tone.As vibrations move through the metastable forms, the atmosphere, and the body itself, the work shifts into a temporary state of resonance — bringing pulse, tension, and movement into the exhibition for 25 minutes. For the performance, Lidiya Kolodina will wear Castanea sativa, a sculptural armor by Andrea Bordács from the Armours of Belonging series. The armor is inspired by the chestnut shell, which protects something fragile with its spiny surface. The work reflects Bordács’s ongoing interest in forms of protection rooted not in defense, but in care, resistance, and preservation. As the sound of the glass harmonica resonates throughout the space, the armor becomes an integral part of the performance atmosphere, creating a subtle dialogue between body, fabric, and acoustic vibration. The performance unfolds within CILIA and EXUVIAE, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the exhibitions through a subtle sonic environment where sound, material, scent, and movement continuously interact.Performance curated by Anna Shpilko.Places are limited.Reserve your place via the link in bio. by @panamachannel

The artist Léa Dumayet invited olfactory designer Daphné Perryman-Holt to collaborate on creating an immersive installation within the exhibition CILIA. The olfactory layer developed in situ reveals elements fundamental to the making of glass: air, water, earth and flame. Propelling the audience through the space, volatile molecules extend the work beyond what can be seen. Glass, metal, light, space, scent, and void form a permeable structure, where intention is carried, tested, and amplified through each material.📸 courtesy of the artist; @panamachannel by @panamachannel

ENArmours of Belonging marks the conclusion of Andrea Bordács’ winter residency in Venice.Developed in close dialogue with the fragile eco system of the Venetian lagoon, the works embody a coexistence of protection, vulnerability, and transformation. Sculptural forms emerge from materials gathered, reclaimed or studied in situ, and reflect on how both human and non-human bodies adapt to complex environments.Installed within the Galleria dei Gondolieri in Zattere, the exhibition remains open until 16 of April. As of April 27th Andrea will present a total installation in parallel with the exhibition by Lea Dumayet, CILIAVisits by appointment. Images courtesy of the artist by @panamachannel

Grand Souffle ll, 2026 (50 x 50 cm) from the Souffle series, among others to be presented in the exhibition Cilia, was produced by the artist at Fonderia Campagner in Milan.Wax, transformed into recycled aluminum, brass, or bronze, captures the precise moment when, carried by the air, the material oscillates between fluidity and stability.Graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris with highest honours, Léa Dumayet develops sculptures that make the moment of contact with matter tangible.“C’est l’air qui intervient en premier dans l’oeuvre.

Multidisciplinary artist Léa Dumayet @leadumayet lives and works between Paris and Milan. In February and March, she joined artist-in-residence Andrea Bordács in Venice, developing part of her research in dialogue with local environment and craftsmanship. We quote art critic Maya Sachweh who has been following Léa’s work from early stage:‘Her practice bares sculptural nature, an outcome of the instinctive, empirical research on the characteristics of diverse materials and natural elements, brought to the point of rupture in order to witness the potential. Her sculptures and installations are often fragile, delicately balanced. Léa Dumayet invites the viewer to experience their tensions. Léa Dumayet’s work constantly oscillates between contradictory notions: fragility and strength, lightness and weight, balance and vertigo, reality and dream, attraction and risk… It is up to the viewer—an active participant—to uncover their hidden meaning.Léa worked together with Venetian glass artisan (perlera) Luna Darin @lunadarin_glassworkshop , as well as with master glassblowers Nicola Moretti and Michael Penna (4Glass) in Murano, to develop a site-specific installation for her solo exhibition CILIA, opening on April 27 alongside Andrea Bordács’ installation EXUVIAE, curated by Anna Shpilko @panamachannel and Elisabeth de Brabant.Images: courtesy of the artist, produced in Venice between the city, lagoon, and glass artisans’ studios. by @panamachannel

In March, Andrea Bordács’ research outside of working on her sculptures, shifts from observation to sourcing and building. Briccole are wooden navigation poles used in the Venetian lagoon to mark safe channels. Installed in groups, they structure movement through shallow and unstable waters.Continuously exposed to tides, salt, and marine organisms, the wood undergoes a slow internal transformation. Shipworms perforate it from within, creating cavities while the outer form remains. When no longer usable, the poles are removed. Their afterlife varies, some are discarded, but others are reclaimed at different level of erosion, salt saturation. Andrea addressed in her search small number of local artisans who collect, cut, and redistribute them, to adopt some for her installation. Armours of Belonging, 8–16 April, Venice. Exuviae develops from a change in working conditions: from an urban studio environment in 2024 to a site directly connected to the lagoon during the winter residency. At Galleria dei Gondolieri, facing the Grand Canal, the artist works in a more withdrawn setting, with direct access to the lagoon and Giudecca. This shift reorients Female Armour toward environmental observation and material sourcing within the lagoon context. An ecotone is a transition zone between two distinct ecosystems, where biological, chemical, and physical conditions overlap. Venice constitutes a specific type of ecotone, produced through continuous interaction between land and water and maintained through human intervention. For Andrea Bordács, whose work engages with water as a primary element, this condition defines the ground of the work.Armours of Belonging, 8–16 April, Venice. EdB Contemporary, in partnership with Women Without Borders, initiated the first Winter Residency in December 2025, inviting Andrea Bordács to work in situ in Venice over three months, in close relation to the lagoon. Two series from Female Armour, developed by Andrea Bordács between her time in Venice in 2024 and this winter, are presented from April 8 within the preserved studio. The space remains open until April 16. The studio opens the work process to direct encounter.Andrea Bordács works through a long-term research on the body, materials, and forms of protection. Female Armour consists of autonomous sculptural works that define protection through structure, tension, and endurance.Images by Andrea BordácsArmours of Belonging, 8–16 April, Venice.
