Vibe: “The hills rose high, but his spirit climbed higher.”

“The midday sun was unforgiving, beating down as the road began to rise and twist into endless hills.

Every incline felt heavier than the last—quads burning, lungs gasping, and sweat pouring under the blazing heat.

But ultra running was never meant to be easy. With every climb, he reminded himself that this suffering was nothing compared to the hope he was chasing.

Each hill was not an obstacle, but a stepping stone—taking him closer to his goal, closer to the dream of a home for children waiting for shelter.

On those brutal climbs, under the merciless sun, he proved that strength is not measured by speed, but by the will to keep rising.

DAY 1

Starting from Hotel Zamrud Kota Cirebon, riders rolled into the unknown roads carrying different plans, different ambitions, and different ways to approach the challenge ahead. With the #DesignYourOwnPath format, every participant was free to create their own route while still completing the required distance and checkpoint requirements across the journey.

The first day on the road brought heat, climbs, fatigue, navigation decisions, and long hours of continuous riding. Through changing landscapes and unpredictable conditions, every rider slowly built their own story kilometer by kilometer across Series 8 — Cirebon.

The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as participants checked their equipment, discussed route strategies, and shared conversations before spending long hours on the road.

Behind every ultra-distance ride, there is always a moment before the start where excitement and uncertainty meet at the same place. Racepack collection day became more than just an administrative process — it marked the beginning of every rider’s personal journey in the spirit of #DesignYourOwnPath.

Every road eventually ends.
But some journeys refuse to leave our minds.

5500 Cirebon was never only about kilometers, elevation gain, or the finish line.

It was about people arriving with their own stories…
and leaving with a slightly different version of themselves.

About the heat of the coastal roads.
About long silent nights.
About missed turns, roadside coffee stalls, small laughs at checkpoints, and simple decisions that slowly shaped the journey.

Cirebon became more than a route.
It became a season.

“Beneath the Megamendung.”

And now…
the road slowly turns home.

“Madiun: The Long Way Home.”

Because maybe that’s what endurance truly is:
not only about going far away,
but learning how to return with meaning.
