Unfortunately, Instagram removed my original post featuring @theweeknd, so I’m sharing it again here. On May 11, 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a special 10th-anniversary screening of Trey Edward Shults’ Krisha. A brilliant and deeply affecting film, Krisha offers a raw, unsettling portrait of family, regret, and the longing to reconnect with the people we’ve hurt. Following the screening, Trey Edward Shults brought out Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, for a special Q&A. Together, they discussed the art of filmmaking, the themes and symbolism woven throughout Krisha, and their work together on Hurry Up Tomorrow. After the Q&A, I was fortunate enough to meet Abel, have a brief moment to talk with him, say hello, and take a photo together. It’s difficult to put into words just how much that moment meant to me. Abel, your music has carried me through some of the darkest chapters of my life, giving me something to hold on to when I needed it most. There were times when I genuinely struggled to find a way forward, and I honestly don’t know if I’d be here today without you and the connection I’ve found through your music. Your art has been a constant source of comfort and strength when I needed it most. To meet someone whose work has had such a profound impact on my life is an experience I’ll always hold close to my heart. I’ll forever be grateful for that day, for the chance to meet you, and for the memories I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for everything, Abel. @theweeknd #theweeknd #abeltesfaye #xotwod by @papaxo_
