You have no idea what this race meant to me..

Story time,

Those who know me well, know, that I gain weight, only by looking at desserts, breathing more than I should, or just purely by existing. It was never easy for me to shake off the extra weight, every time I tried, I failed..

July 2025 is marked as the final photo of this post. This is when I said, enough is enough, let’s make it work this time. Let’s lock in.

Not even two months later I fell so bad skiing, that I dislocated and broke my shoulder. I was devastated, like it wasn’t meant to be. But I stuck with the diet, I did my steps, leg training. But my upper body strength went downhill.

I had my surgery done at the end of the October. I wasn’t doing full upper body strength training until January. I didn’t allow it to slow me down, I kept my diet, kept pushing..

When I told my amazing physio @daynehornechiro that I wanna do Hyrox, he believed I could do it, but was worried if my shoulder would cope. To this day I can’t bench press more than 40kgs, my training is still somewhat limited. I was definitely a bit worried going for the race.

Oh man, did I feel it at the wall balls. Sometimes it felt like I was throwing the ball using only my left arm. I had 28x no reps, but 13minutes later, when I crossed that finish line, it was all worth it.

I wanted to share this personal story with you, to show you what is happening behind the curtains, the personal battles, the life goals, the hard work. And, I guess, to prove to myself, that I am capable of much more than I thought. I cannot wait what the future holds.
