Micro collage in real time💛
I use antique stamps and vintage illustrations to create detailed artworks that tell new stories from old materials. I carefully place each stamp to build up an image, so the more you look, the more you see. This artwork is a slow one — built over many weeks, café by café, layer by layer, stamp by stamp. I want you to follow the process as much as the finished piece, seeing how each space, moment, and it all coming together .

This series is guided by you, so please tag cafés, hidden gems, and places you think I should visit next.

🇦🇺Antiques in Australia: Episode One🇦🇺

📍 New Farm Antiques, Brisbane

I can’t believe my first day in Australia was nearly 3 weeks ago! It’s been absolutely jam packed with adventures. I did 18 days from Brisbane to Cairns and now I’m in Sydney for over a week.

Anyway, back to the reason you’re here… the antiques!

What a way to start my antique journey in Australia. This place was incredible and so well curated, with something around every corner. You could easily get lost in here.

And as you know, I’m always drawn to the sparkling cabinets! ✨

I got chatting to some of the lovely dealers and they showed me some of their other stock too. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories and having interesting conversations with like-minded people.

So if you’re in Brisbane, you definitely need to add this to your list.

Also meet two wonderful girls from @hustleandflo_byinge and incredible salon/ vintage clothes shop. Such an amazing business. Check them out x

✈️ A little airport art session…

Before heading off to Australia, I packed my artwork in my hand luggage (because apparently I can’t go anywhere without it 😂). So, during my long layover at Heathrow, I got it back out and spent some time working on it.

I’ve been in Australia near 2 weeks now. I’m having the best time but it has been full on. So haven’t had much down time. But I have filmed in to antique places to fair so can wait to share the@ with you.

Paperbyems & Miss Quinney have had an upgraded just in time for my adventure to Australia 🇦🇺
I’m so grateful for Miss Quinneys believing. She believes in me and what we are building together. We’ve both created something so special and I can’t wait to see where this next chapter will take us.

Until we are reunited, I will be figuring out this new camera. Wish me luck.

Supporting local businesses is really important to both myself and Miss Quinney, and whenever we can, we’ll always choose local over the big corporate chains. 🫶🏻

In between collecting our auction winnings and heading back to Quinney HQ for a day of work, we stopped off at Farm to Table in Aberdeenshire for some lunch🌱

We had lunch, picked our own pea pods, met some alpacas and goats, and had a wander around. There’s something so special about eating fresh produce that has literally been grown right there on the farm.

They also have lots of amazing local suppliers throughout the business, from flowers and dog treats to drinks, fresh fruit and vegetables, and so much more. It’s exactly the kind of place we love supporting.

And the pea pods… 🫛😂

I was SO excited to find them because you hardly ever see them in the shops anymore. I genuinely consider them one of my favourite snacks of all time — and I kid you not, the two MASSIVE bags Miss Quinney and I picked were completely demolished by me within about an hour of getting home. 😂

So yes… I’ll absolutely be back next season for more!

✨ FINISHED PIECE ✨

This one has been a labour of love! Using antique stamps from my collection alongside this beautiful illustration by Tony Sarg.

The book I’m working from is from 1946, but the illustration itself dates back to the early 1900s — and this style of illustration has to be one of my absolute favourites to work with. There’s just so much detail and character in it. 🥹

I’ve spent the last 2 days (about 12 hours!) staring at tiny pieces of paper, carefully choosing stamps and building up all those little details. It’s definitely one of the most detailed pieces I’ve created so far.

Looking back at my first pieces compared to this one, I can really see how much my skills have developed. It’s mad to think how far I’ve come just by experimenting, practising and, quite literally, sticking thousands of tiny pieces of paper together. 😂

I hope you like this one as much as I loved creating it. 🖤

Another auction day with Quinneys ✨💎

There’s just something so exciting about being surrounded by treasures and hunting for those hidden gems. I honestly think everyone in the antique trade is a treasure hunter at heart 🥹✨

We’ve collected our winning lots from yesterday and I can’t wait to take you along for pick-up day — I’ll share that with you very soon 👀

This is my last auction day with Quinneys for a little while as I’m heading off to Australia for 6 weeks! 🇦🇺✈️

There’s lots to get done before I go, and I’m definitely going to miss my Quinneys adventures (and all the jewellery 😭💍). But don’t worry, I’ll still be working away behind the scenes and creating content for Kate while I’m away.

✨Learn something new every day in the world of antiques✨

When I was at Errol, I caught up with my good friend Chloe and her dad, who are the faces behind @payneanddaughters_ They’ve been supporters of the page right from the beginning, and I’m so grateful for all their support, knowledge and stories from the trade.

I wasn’t actually sure what these were until I got a proper demonstration — along with a cracking story about their history.

And who knew they were car indicators?! Because I definitely didn’t! 😂

✨Spend the day with me at the Errol Antique Fair✨

I’m officially back in my antique fair era, wandering around the stalls, discovering amazing pieces, meeting new dealers and, best of all, being reunited with people I’ve known for years.

One of my favourite things about this page is the community it’s created for me. I’ve met so many wonderful people through the antique trade, and it really is such a privilege to be part of it. 💛

Errol is a newer fair in Scotland, so having another one to add to the yearly antique fair calendar is SO exciting. We don’t have enough of the bigger established fairs up here, so it was brilliant to have one closer to home. The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, but the outdoor car boot and market were absolutely GINORMOUS! I definitely need to go back just for that. 😂

Trying to squeeze both a car boot and an antique fair into one day was perhaps a little ambitious… especially when I’m trying to stick to a budget before travelling next month! But I still came home with some lovely pieces for my own home, and of course got to spend the day with Miss Quinney and pick up some bits for Quinneys Antiques.

Next stop: Paxton’s in a couple of weeks — a three-day fair on the Scottish Borders! I can’t wait. 🥹
