🎇 Issue 16 Cover Reveal 🎇

What do you think of the cover for our next issue? We hope you love it as much as we do!

The cover art is called 'Fragmented' and is by 17-year-old artist Patrick Delaney. Our cover was designed by @ebraydendesign.

Paper Lanterns Issue 16 will be launched on 11th October and is available to pre-order from our website now.

Once again we are bringing you an issue brimming with original art and writing, as well as reviews of all the latest teen and YA books.

Issue 16 also includes:
🏆 The winner of our 2025 Summer Flash Fiction Contest
🎤 An interview with Irish author Gráinne O'Brien
✍️ Three short reflections on identity including one from a 13-year-old writer
📘 Our book club discussion of A Fix of Light by Irish author Kel Menton

As always, half our contributors are teenagers, ensuring that talented young voices and visions have a platform.

We’ll be sharing our contributors and the details of our launch in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to all the team at this weekend’s @dublinsmallpressfair 🎉🎉🙏🙏💐💐

@thestormsjournal was there, thanks to @dublincityoflit and our Pushcart Prize nominated Prose Writer @smcnicholl took part by reading ‘The Third Pint’ his prose contribution to our latest issue.

I had to work yesterday and today but so grateful to @square_depaor (sublime poet and subeditor of The Storms, Issue II) and @9aulcarreo (editor of the beautiful Stoney collection) for sending me updates and photos and videos. ❤️💙

Shout out to the effervescent @cassiagadengilmartin editor of @channel_mag and former Stormer and all around fabulous poet and person
@sinead.griffin.poetry from @the4facedliar 💐💐

I made it finally to the fair late this afternoon, just in time to meet Amy O’Sullivan, one of the brilliant editors of @paperlanterns_lit who’d just picked up a copy of The Storms, issue IV, our bumper Dublin issue, perfect for that Xmas gift 🎁

Huge congratulations to all the literary journals on the Irish scene today. The scenery is all the more luminous because of it 🎉🎉
