🌈My rainbow cards have been my most popular design recently.

🥰 It’s nice to know that people are sending their messages of love through these cards.

You can find my shop on Etsy- look for PaperStitchArt and there I’ll be!

✈️ Sewing in the sky ✈️

Absolute game changer!

Today was the first time I’ve sewn on a plane. I’d previously presumed it was a no go to use needles and scissors on a plane. But they are permitted!- (I used small scissors with rounded edges)

I’m not a huge fan of flying. I find it quite scary and it sends my nervous system into overdrive. But sewing really helped me relax - as did ADHD medication and using my @mysensate . Definately the holy trinity!

I chose a piece of fabric with stripes as I felt this would reduce decision making. I then had a guide to work into. I also restricted my colours to calming ones. And then I just went for it… and time flew! I’ll carry this on next week on the flight home.

☀️ Holiday stitching complete ☀️

🟢I enjoyed making this piece as it gave me a chance to switch off and do something mindful. My holiday sewing is others holiday reading!

🔴 I also enjoyed the restrictions of working with discarded objects. I’m aware that this work with erode over time but I quite like that. The Eurocamp was really clean and it was hard to spot the bits and bobs.

🟣 As this piece was created from the bits and bobs collected from the beach and camp site it only felt right to photograph it in the sand.

What do you think? - Anyone else enjoy working with ‘rubbish’?! And who else loves making art on holiday?

Every evening I go for a wander around the camp site with my plastic bag and collect bits and bobs to add to this piece.

There’s a fair few bobbles, balloons and beads lurking about!

Holiday stitching with ‘rubbish’ (work in progress)

🏖️ I started sewing some tiny pebbles on the beach.. and then I found some bits and bobs and added them too.

⛺️ We’re staying in a Eurocamp in the Netherlands and it’s very clean!… but it’s nice to find some discarded objects to work with!

🌞🚙🚢 Starting to think about the summer holidays, our road trip to the Netherlands… AND making time to sew!

Whenever we go on road trips I take a little stash of papers and threads. I then pick up bits and bobs along the way to add to the mix.

This picture shows the starting point to a piece a I made a few years ago which documented our road trip from north to South England ( don’t ask me to recall the specific places we stopped in- my ADHD brain doesn’t retain important details like this!🫣)

Anyone else have any road trips planned and a stash of goodies to take along??!

🌟🌞This one is more neon then ever intended! But I quite like this intensity at the moment!

It’s definitely reflecting how much better things feel once the sun comes out!

This and That

I find myself switching between my 2 art forms even more regularly at the moment.

I’m not sure if this is a focus issue or lack of motivation or if I’m reading too much into it! Either way I’m enjoying this way of working for now. One helps me process my heritage and one helps me switch off and both are very needed.

Work in progress: Anything goes with this one. Paper, thread, sequins, beads.

A little more paper and stitch into this one this morning

🤓I needed to do some proof reading today ( which doesn’t always go down well with me! So I popped the ‘Read Aloud’ option on Microsoft word and listened to my writing whilst adding some stitches into this oldy!

🧠Anyone else recognise the sewing helps them focus or absorbing information ?
