#ParadoxProjects NOW YOU SEE ME MORIA on view at @stedelijkmuseum as part of the collection presentation “Tomorrow is a Different Day: Collection 1980 - NOW”.

Moria, Europe’s largest refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, has faced inhumane living conditions since its establishment in 2015. To shed light on this crisis, Afghan refugee Amir and Spanish photo editor Noemí launched Now You See Me Moria (@now_you_see_me_moria ), an Instagram account sharing poignant photos and stories from the camp.

Their initiative sparked a global call to action, inviting graphic designers to create posters based on these images. The response was extraordinary, with nearly 500 designers contributing to the "Love for Moria" campaign, amplifying the urgent call for human rights and dignity. by @paradox_nl

Ad van Denderen, the ‘éminence grise’ of Dutch documentary photography, returned to Zeist, Netherlands, his birthplace, for an exhibition at Slot Zeist. This show is hosted by the same venue where his first solo exhibition took place sixty years ago. "Back in Town" is a condensed version of his 2023 retrospective at the Nederlands Fotomuseum, curated by Frits Gierstberg.

The exhibition showcases Van Denderen's work from Iran, South Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, highlighting themes like migration, apartheid, and mining. Since the 1990s, Van Denderen has focused on many long-term, independent projects including “Go No Go”, “So Blue So Blue”, and “Welkom Today”, developed in collaboration with Paradox.

📸 VISUAL COMPASS:  Workshops unpacking online radicalisation strategies

Ana Zibelnik & Jakob Ganslmeier are touring their VISUAL COMPASS workshop across Europe. Last month they were at @organvida_festival in Zagreb in a programme organised by @futuresphotography

The VISUAL COMPASS workshops explore the radicalising power of images in today’s digital world, focusing on how visuals—especially memes and humour—are used to spread alt-right ideologies via social media. 🤳🏻

Participants are confronted with - often innocent looking - visuals taken from online sources. They are asked to position these on a create a visual map, much like a political compass, to examine key issues such as meme culture, generational gaps, and the appropriation of symbols in current trends. 📱

💡 Key Axes:  1️⃣ Humor: From satire to sarcasm—how jokes can dismantle or fuel hate.  2️⃣ Violence: Cyberbullying, hate speech, and symbols that radicalise.  3️⃣ Normie vs. Redpilled: Understanding the path to online extremism.  4️⃣ Symbols: How they connect, divide, or manipulate.

📸 VISUAL COMPASS workshops started at Foam 3h at @foam_amsterdam as part of the exhibition GIGA, co-produced with Paradox. The aim of both: opening people’s eyes – boomers and zoomers alike - to create awareness of the hidden political strategies and the dangers to democracy they represent.

Last chance to visit the retrospective exhibition of the work of Diana Blok “I Challenge You To Love Me” at @museumcobra curated by Hripsimé Visser. Featuring a captivating compilation of (self) portraits exploring identity and gender, the show runs until Sunday, September 29, with a finissage from 15:00h to 17:00h.

Diana Blok began by turning the camera on herself, exploring myths, dreams, and human connections. Blok recognizes her own story in those of others, capturing stories of those whose gender, identity, and sexual preferences defy fixed norms, often in social contexts where fluidity is not embraced.

📸As we cherish her legacy, we revisit the collaboration of Blok with PARADOX, producing her exhibition at @tentrotterdam and the publication "Ay Dios", in collaboration with writer Jan Brokken. by @paradox_nl

Today, we are sharing a glimpse of two out of eight works to be shown at Falstad: ‘In the Blue’ and ‘A New Beginning’. From Saturday on, all of them will be available online. Stay tuned for more!

Today, we present ‘Public Enlightenment’ by @jakob_ganslmeier and @anazibelnik, produced in collaboration with Paradox and @falstadsenteret.

Public Enlightenment is a series of three distinct representations of perpetrator perspectives: fictional (Hollywood), historical (WWII archival material), and contemporary (Youtube). Common Enemy, Strong is Beautiful, and War Room interrogate the sources of today’s far-right extremist ideas.

Five artists, filmmakers, and writers take part in @housesofdarkness — an international project Paradox has been working on in collaboration with three WWII memorials. @kampwesterbork @falstadsenteret @belsenmemorial

Today, we would like to introduce you to @jongsma_oneill, an award winning documentary filmmakers duo. Their project ‘His Name Is My Name’ is an animated documentary series that explores how the crimes of WWII-era perpetrators still reverberate through today’s society.
