I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and lacrosse career at Alvernia University!

First and foremost, I want to thank my family for always supporting me and believing in me. From the countless hours spent at practices, games, and tournaments to all the sacrifices along the way, I couldn’t have done this without you.

Thank you to all my coaches for always pushing me to be the best person and player I can be. A special thank you to Coach Ahmad for your time, guidance, and dedication. I am truly grateful for everything you have taught me. And to Coach Bob, thank you for teaching me not just how to play the game, but how to truly love it.

To my teammates, thank you for all the memories, hard work, and friendships.

A special thank you to Coach Franklin and Coach Shallis for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be part of the Alvernia family.

Our final congratulations goes to our Spartan Award recipient — Gabe Akdemir!

Gabe, a senior captain, put together an outstanding four-year career here at Paramus. On the field, he was a model of consistency and commitment, finishing his career with zero missed practices across all four years. His mental toughness helped him succeed not only as a player, but also as a leader for our program.

Off the field, Gabe made academics a priority while maintaining a strong GPA. Next year, he will attend New Jersey Institute of Technology to study Electrical Engineering.

Gabe also gave back to the program by working with and supporting our younger athletes across all levels throughout his time here.

Thank you, Gabe, and congratulations on an incredible career. by @paramus_boys_lax
