What is the impact of AI on society? What can literature reveal to us about navigating the technological and cultural shifts? We had to talk about it.

Anuma, Summit Books and Lit Club gathered to explore our varying perspectives on the way AI is changing the way we think, create, and connect. Where we arrived? Our need for human connection and what technology can never replace.

Using passages from Siang Lu’s Ghost Cities in addition to articles and pieces of literature curated from guests, we held a wide-ranging conversation that amplified contrasting perspectives and questions worth sitting with.

A few tickets are still available for this coming Wednesday’s Wine School with Nick Africano, founder of En Rama and owner of the Catskills own Mirador. Nick has been building an American sherry culture through education, importing, bottling, community, festivals, and hospitality for the last decade and will be guiding us through a lineup that we are so excited to taste through alongside some favorite snacks from Mirador!

The next great bottle you drink might be one you’ve never heard of. 🍷

For our latest iteration of our Ask the NYC Somm column, we look toward @parcellewine, the Chinatown wine bar known for making wine feel a little less intimidating and a lot more fun.

The conversation goes beyond a list of bottles. We got into the styles they’re excited about, why they’re reaching for lighter reds served chilled, what makes Portuguese wine worth exploring, and when to order something like an oxidative Chenin or classic Chablis.

Of course, wine is only part of the Parcelle experience. The food menu is built for lingering over a few glasses, with dishes like whipped ricotta pinsa, cabbage Caesar, fancy Parm and trout roe + chips.

After almost 8 years of hosting wine schools, we have a confession to make- we’ve never done one focused on sherry. So, we’re finally fixing that, and we couldn’t think of anyone better to do it with than our dear friend Nick Africano, founder of En Rama and owner of one of our favorite Catskills tapas spots, Mirador.
