If you made it here then you’re obviously interested in untapped flavours that you could be the first to discover. Imagine thinking you’ve tried all foods and then realizing that there’s actually a whole other world out there.

Most of our diets are consisted of the average thing that we’re sold at a grocery store or anywhere else really. Lots of these things have incredible amount of logistics tied into the reason for them being readily available for you. It’s not only by popular demand but by checking criteria’s that allow for low loss margins etc and to be honest you can’t hate on grocery stores for wanting to play it safe with what they offer.

What that means there is WAY more diversity that is readily available from SO MANY farmers that are begging to sell, but nobody will buy them as they are too risky of a product to have on the shelf.

Some of these factors could include ;
-being too soft to transport when ripe
-perishable window of only a week or less
-freight price too high
-No one knows about it
-Simply not caring for things until they’re a huge trend

Therefore, leaving you with a very slim chance of ever finding anything interesting unless you really go out of your way, sometimes too different countries to find these fruits that you’re looking for and will most of the time still not get accurate information even from people that you might have thought were professionals on the subject.

What that means is, you can often times be speaking to a farmer of a certain fruit that has been growing their entire life - literally has no idea what he’s talking about. He or she just has a recipe that he or she follows and that’s what works for them! But in terms of knowledge of the fruit and actual quality once it reaches the consumer plate?! NADA.

One of the coolest fruits I’ve ever tried is definitely charichuelo! The outside is yellow and spikey while the inside has a juicy pulp wrapped around a large seed similar to mangosteens! The flavor is like a super sweet carnival lemonade mixed with a little bit of apple. This is so delicious especially when it’s extra cold 😍💛 by @pardessfarms
