When I was 11, I played "Young Josh" in my area premiere of Big: the Musical, and a love affair with Maltby & Shire was born. So happy to have been ASA Secretary @goldiedvernyc's date to this year's Gala Concert, celebrating their timeless legacy. From their iconic off-Broadway song cycles to Baby, to their outside collaborations (Miss Saigon was the first Broadway show I ever saw; Taking of Pelham 123 is an all-time great movie) I feel so connected to their work, and last night was nothing short of magical. Great to see some friends and colleagues on stage and off at the beautiful @kaufmanmusiccenter too. by @pardothepianoman

One month of Aurelia.

I’m having the best time.

For some reason, I’ve had a few people in my life try to scare me or “helpfully” warn me about how difficult being a parent is. So many people being like “just you wait until you’re sleep deprived, just you wait until she doesn’t stop crying, just you wait until she won’t sleep.”

For anyone who aspires to being a parent or is unsure, here are mine:

Just you wait until she looks at you for the first time.
Just you wait until you watch your partner fall in love in real time.
Just you wait til she wraps her little fingers around one of yours.
Just you wait for every adorable yawn, stretch, funny noise, sneeze, and hiccup.
Just you wait until you can hardly remember your life without her.
Just you wait until you couldn’t believe you could love your husband or wife any more than you already do.
Just you wait until something in your life finally pays you back for the endless hours spent and the nights of lost sleep, in the smallest ways possible like cuddles and coos, which feel like they’re worth more than all the money in the world.

Really fortunate to fly back 🛬 to Boston 🇺🇸 from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 on time on Saturday, August 1, 2026 to rehearse and perform on Solo Violin 🎻 for the Broadway musical 🎭 “Dear Evan Hansen” with Harbour Lights Theatre @harbourlightstheatre at South Shore Conservatory @ssconservatory in West Hingham, MA for 5 shows on August 6-9, 2026, after all the hurdles to secure my new third O-1B non-immigrant artist visa stamp on my HKSAR passport at the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong (a surprise trip to Hong Kong on July 21-August 1, 2026). Hopefully the audience enjoyed my solo violin playing in the seven-piece pit band and the cast, led by the music director and pianist Dan Pardo @pardothepianoman as pictured.

Thanks must be given to Steve Bass @heyitsstevebass , the Artistic Director of South Shore Conservatory for writing an urgency letter on my behalf to the U.S. Consulate on Monday, July 20, 2026 before I boarded the flight back to Hong Kong on Tuesday early morning, July 21, 2026. Even though the regular visa interview was originally scheduled on Friday, September 25, 2026, the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong acknowledged my emergency appointment request so that I could reschedule it to Wednesday, July 29, 2026. After my visa interview, I requested to pickup my passport no later than July 31, 2026. The O-1 visa stamp was then issued/printed on Thursday, July 30, 2026. In the end, my passport with the new visa stamp was available for pickup at the SF Express Store on Fleming Road in Wanchai on Friday, July 31, 2026. Thus I could board my flight back to Boston as scheduled.

Anyways, this musical was my very first commitment in this new three-year artist visa period. I will treasure the years ahead with my upcoming performances and teaching work in the Boston area. Best wishes to me! 🍀 taken in West Hingham, Massachusetts by @pardothepianoman

Hi friends! Happy to announce that after several years as a sub at @mariescrisisofficial I will be taking on a regular shift on Mondays from 9:30 to Close, with @joeiam2 behind the bar, and @divaofthedemic on the floor. Thanks to @rantaynyc for bringing me on, @kenneygreen for asking me to sub this shift throughout the years, and @drewwutke for introducing me to Marie's Crisis and inviting me into fold, post-pandemic.
