10 days to go.

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us reach £6,900 raised and pledged so far. Every donation, every share and every message of support has brought us closer to bringing Breaking The Silence to this year's Govanhill Festival.

A huge thank you to our supporters:

- UCU Scotland
- UCU University of Glasgow
- EIS Glasgow LA
- UNISON Care & Housing branch Scotland
- Unite Glasgow Charity Sector branch
- Fire Brigades Union Scotland

...and to everyone that has donated, shared and given support along the way.

We're on the final stretch now. If you've been thinking about donating, now's the time. If you can't donate, sharing our Crowdfunder with your friends or networks will help enormously.

Breaking The Silence tells the story of the abolition movement through the words of those that fought it on the ground. With your help, we are bringing these too-overlooked voices and histories to new audiences.

Thank you for helping us make it happen.

THREE WEEKS TO GO.

Three weeks today, Breaking The Silence will make its Scottish debut at Govanhill International Festival.

We'll be transforming Govanhill Parish Church into an eighteenth-century abolition meeting space, inviting audiences to step inside Britain's great grassroots movement that challenged the transatlantic slave trade.

Thanks to the incredible support we've received so far, we've now raised £5,290. There's still some way to go, but every donation and conversation is getting us closer.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared and encouraged us so far.

If you'd like to help us get over the finish line, you'll find the Crowdfunder in our bio.

We'll see you in Govanhill on 5-6 August! ✊❤️ by @pardyonshow

🎉 WE'RE OVER HALFWAY! 🎉

Thanks to an incredible response from friends, trade unionists, community organisations and supporters, we've now raised £5,260 towards bringing Breaking The Silence to Scotland for the first time.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the campaign so far, including:

- EIS Glasgow
- UCU Scotland
- Unite Glasgow Charity Sector Branch
- STUC Black Workers Committee

And to every individual who has donated, shared our posts or helped spread the word. Every contribution has brought us closer.

We're so excited to bring Breaking The Silence to @govanhillfestival this August.

Our production tells the real story of the radicals that challenged the transatlantic slave trade, centring the voices of Black abolitionists, campaigners and people who organised for change from below.

Over halfway reached. Now for the second half.

If you'd like to help us get over the finish line, the Crowdfunder link is in our bio. Every donation and share really does make a difference.

Thank you. Here's to the next 26 days. ✊❤️

36 days to go.

These photos are from previous performances of Breaking the Silence.

In just over five weeks, we'll be bringing the production back to the stage at Govanhill International Festival in Glasgow. We're very excited to bring this rarely told history to life in Scotland for the first time.

Before we can get there, we need your help.

We're currently crowdfunding to cover the real costs of making independent theatre: paying our performers proper Equity rates, travel costs, and costumes.

We believe artists deserve to be paid fairly, and every donation, share and message of support helps us get one step closer to opening night.

If you'd like to support Breaking the Silence, you'll find the link in our bio.

Thank you to everyone who's already backed the project. We can't wait to share this production with you.

I have always loved poetry/spoken word and fancy sharing some of my own. I wrote this piece over 5 years ago.

I want to share more of my writing, as well as meeting people and watching them share their voice. So if you know of any open mic nights or clubs in London that you’d recommend let me know💛
