How Paribu Art meets the city

In Kadıköy, a 1,250-square-metre LED surface wraps around three sides of @ParibuArt, carrying the work happening inside the venue out onto the streets around it.

Opened in late 2025, Paribu Art grew from Paribu’s long-standing support of culture in Türkiye into a space of its own. Together with @ParibuStudio, it has become a place for artists to experiment with how work can move across performance, technology and public space.

Ahead of our private event together ahead of presenting @fvckrender at @ContemporaryIstanbul, we asked the Paribu Art team about how the space began, what they’ve learned from its first year and the collaborations they want to build next.

Silk Road Day 05 / Istanbul
SILK Art House presents: Fvckrender

During @ContemporaryIstanbul, we’re taking over Komünite for an evening bringing together the artists, collectors and people shaping contemporary digital culture in the city.

In partnership with Paribu Art & Paribu Studio, we’ll begin with a conversation moderated by SILK’s @JustinGilanyi, featuring @fvckrender (Frédéric Duquette), before opening up the evening to spend some time together, meet new people and continue the conversations around the fair.

İlk davetlilerimizle dijital üretimin köklerinden bugünün hızlı, canlı ve kolektif üretim biçimlerine uzandık.
@bagerakbay ’ın sunumunda tek bir kahramanın uzun yolculuğundan, birlikte üreten bir “biz”e geçişi konuştuk. Ardından Paribu Studio ekibiyle tanışıp işin mutfağına girdik. Son bir yılda üretilen işlerin arka planını; fikirden sisteme, ekrandan şehre nasıl taşındığını ekipten dinledik ve stüdyoyu birlikte gezdik.

Yeni buluşmalarda, yeni fikirlerle görüşmek üzere. Devamı gelecek. 🔜

How does an eye blink on a 12,520-pixel-wide canvas? 🌸👁️ by @paribustudio

This artwork spans 6 different surfaces, the largest at 12,520 × 4,320 pixels dozens of times beyond the resolution standard video models can handle.

The solution: instead of animating the whole canvas, crop and animate 69 individual regions within the artwork (eyes, flowers, leaves). Each one is labeled with its own intent: blink, bloom, sway.

A specific technique makes the loops seamless: the same frame is used as both the start and end point, with all motion happening in between. The result pixel-identical start and end frames, zero visible cut.

Production runs on ComfyUI, through three separate workflows (flf2v, i2v, qwen_edit) not one complex system, but small parts each doing a single job.
