Bit of a bittersweet one here, it's the last project i worked on with my dad.
This is a project i started in 2022 when i really wanted an anvil. So my broke ass set about gathering materials, I found a length of railway iron on marketplace and managed to cart it home balanced on my bike seat. I found the log on the side of the road and dragged it home on a sack truck with completely flat tyres, all very unemployed activities but it was a good time so who cares.
Dad taught me how to use his angle grinder, which I promptly never returned and then we were off to the races.

The only problem was once i realized how difficult it would be to file a perfectly square hardy hole in solid railway iron I ended up procrastinating finishing the thing for three years, meaning that dad never got to see it finished.

Eventually i just decided i was gonna get it done, no matter what it took, so I've spent the last few months sawong and filing out that hardy hole and cleaning up the carvings until i finally finished the thing and I'm so proud of how it came out.

Here's hoping it can see generations of forging to come, peace and love y'all ✌️

I just came second in the Australian National WorldSkills jewellery competition in Brisbane.
It was an absolutely grueling 3 days but we made it through. Huge congratulations to @littlegrace2hill for first and the highest point count in Australia!!!!
@sehoonwood for third!!
And everyone else who competed, it was amazing meeting everyone :) by @paris_hermit

Finally got my jewellery bench set up. I bought it off market place for $75 in a completely run-down state and the work surface was completely split in several places. I spent the past few months on and off sanding, glueing, replacing and reinforcing parts. Now i have no excuses not to keep making stuff, I'm so glad i got around to finishing it :) by @paris_hermit

Finally finished my latest ring, I'm so happy with how it came out!
Sterling Silver, Brass and a Rhodonite setting that is the absolute highlight of the piece.
