@annabiret

The news of her passing has deeply moved our community.

Messages and tributes have come from across the world, reflecting how respected and loved she was, and reminding us how the international street photography community connects us beyond borders, making the world feel smaller and closer.

She was part of the two Paris Open Call projects, the 100 Years 100 Women and the In Search of the Light exhibitions. Her work and presence fully embodied the spirit of these initiatives.

She began her photographic journey in 2018 and quickly became an inspiring figure, reminding us that photography is not about age or timing, but about passion — a passion that can grow, evolve, and stay alive throughout our lives.

An internationally awarded photographer, she remained deeply engaged in her practice, with remarkable energy, curiosity, and dedication. Her commitment to photography and her joy in creating were a source of inspiration for many.

Please swipe to see her photographs presented in our 100 Years 100 Women and In Search of the Light exhibitions.

Her work, her generosity, and her light will continue to live on through the images she leaves behind. by @parisopencall

Celebrating women also means celebrating diversity in photographic expression.
Black & white photography is part of 100 Years 100 Women.

Hi! We would like to present another photo that is part of the 100 Years 100 Women exhibition. @gulnara.samoilova was also very kind by accepting to lend us this great photo of hers. Gulnara is not only a great photographer and a former photojournalist, she is the founder of @womenstreetphotographers who gives voice and visibility to women all around the globe.

It’s been a long time since we have stopped presenting the exhibition participants as it’s been a very busy period! And what a better moment than coming back to the presentations at a birthday?! Today it’s the birthday of dear @vita_flumen and she has this great photo in our 100 Years 100 Women exhibition.

Happy birthday Sandra! ❤️

I’d like to share with you my speech on the opening of the @mx_streetphotofest. I’ve tried to explain what the title of the exhibition 100 Years 100 Women that I had curated was standing for and why I think it’s importait to support women.

I’d like to thank again the @mx_streetphotofest team for hosting this exhibition which is very importait to me. Seeing 100 photos on the walls of the festival honored me a lot and I was happy that this exhibition was an opportunity to give visibility to 100 women.

I would like to thank also to all the 99 Women who trusted me and let me to have their photos.

And of course I would like to express my gratitude to @associationsev and @maison.asso.07 who enabled the création of this project by allowing me to use their location in Paris. by @parisopencall

“Good afternoon, everyone.

Thank you for being here.
In Search of the Light was born from a need to find hope and light — especially in these uncertain times. We wanted to show how, even in everyday life, moments of peace and connection still shine through.

We invited women street photographers from around the world because their perspectives are powerful and too often underrepresented.

This exhibition was made possible thanks to our partnership with @associationsev founded by @arzusagmandemirkol and @cinardemirkol , and with the generous support of @maison.asso.07 .

A big thank-you to the photographers,
to our jury: @_barbaradimaio_ , @beauty_brigade , @mariesinga (sorry I was struggling to pronounce your name), @marcislindsay — who came all the way from Washington, D.C. — and myself (@latifebaudet),
and to @patriziacali for the artwork.
Also to all those who helped with the installation (listed below) — thank you.

We hope you’ll leave here with a bit of that light we’ve been searching for.”

Video kindly shot by @initials__mc

Those who saved me with the installation: @lea_gunder @baranertem @saufffie @marcislindsay @mariesinga @limon_tozu and my family.
