Some 86 years ago today John Lennon was born in Liverpool, England. Since I was 9 years old he’s had an impact on my life, some days it’s music, others just the words, the films, his writing, the image all of it comes to the forefront at one time or another, along with Glam Rock (it was the early Seventies folks) he kicked open the musical doors in my life and all kinds of things came running through… Bless ya John 🍏 ☮️✌🏻9️⃣🕉️ by @parkeralang

In the beginning good always overpowered the evils of all man’s sins... But in time, the nations grew weak and our cities fell to slums, while evil stood strong in the dusts of hell lurked the blackest of hates for he whom they feared awaited them... Now many, many life times later lay destroyed beaten, beaten down only corpses of rebels, ashes of dreams and blood stained streets... It has been written “Those who have the youth have the future” so come now children of the beast, be strong and shout at the devil… 😈 by @parkeralang

When you’re listening to an album and you realise that it’s held a special place in your heart for decades! In this case I’m talking about ‘Creatures of the Night’ the tenth studio album by KISS, released in 1982 (I was 17 years old). It was the band’s last for Casablanca Records, the only label for which KISS had recorded up to that point. The album was dedicated to the memory of Casablanca founder and early KISS supporter, Neil Bogart, who had died of cancer during the recording sessions. It is also the band’s last album recorded with Ace Frehley, credited as an official member and their first album with Vinnie Vincent, as the initially uncredited lead guitarist. Vincent would later be credited but not featured on the cover of the 1985 reissue of the album. It was also KISS’s last album to feature the band with their trademark makeup until the release of ‘Psycho Circus’ in 1998.

By 1982, KISS’s popularity in the US had plummeted due to changing musical tastes and their move away from the anthemic hard rock of their earlier material. 1979’s ‘Dynasty’, while commercially successful, alienated many fans with the disco-flavored track ‘I Was Made for Lovin’ You’. 1980’s ‘Unmasked’ fell further into a power pop oriented sound and was KISS’s first album not to achieve platinum status since 1975’s ‘Dressed to Kill’. The band did not even tour the U.S. for ‘Unmasked’, and it also soon faced its first lineup change: founding member Peter Criss, who had not participated in any of the ‘Unmasked’ recording sessions, officially left KISS in 1980 and was replaced by Eric Carr. by @parkeralang

It’s one of those nights, it’s time to visit the recent Mötley Crüe picture disc box set, and just like myself and my old friend Darryl Gates were discussing over coffee earlier today, there’s that symbol again! Built to shock, and God did it gain some mileage with our parents back in the day! Beware kids he’s coming to get you… 😈 @motleycrue @nikkisixxphotography @tommylee @thevinceneil @john5official by @parkeralang

It’s 25 degrees in London today! In two days time it’ll be October, but everyone is walking around like they are heading to the beach! 🌞 I made my way to Cheyne Walk in Chelsea on my walk, at one time or another home to various members of The Rolling Stones, and it’s easy to see why! Number 3 (Keith Richards), number 48 (Mick Jagger) and number 119 (Ronnie Wood) the place positively screams “look how well I’ve done”. I’m currently reading Bob Spitz’ absolutely excellent ‘The Rolling Stones’ (Michael Joseph Books) thus the need to dig a little deeper… by @parkeralang

Bon Jovi @ Wembley Stadium (London) September 6th 2026.

“Sitting here wasted and wounded with this old piano, trying hard to capture the moment this morning I don’t know ‘Cause a bottle of vodka still lodged in my head, and some blonde gave me nightmares think that she’s still in my bed. As I dream about movies, they won’t make of me when I’m dead!”

I first saw Bon Jovi live some 42 years ago, they were the support act to KISS here in the UK, so quite fitting that the last song played over the speakers before tonight’s gig was ‘Lick It Up’ the title track of the album, of that very tour etc…

Tonight Wembley Stadium was rammed to the rafters, and in that 42 year gap I’ve seen Bon Jovi in various UK venues, in various USA venues, across Europe and just the once in Japan! Tonight, despite very well publicised issues with his vocal cords in the last few years Jon and his band were on fire! The set list was pure gold, and the gathered 120,000 punters were loving it, and so was Jon Bon Jovi, he said as much multiple times. He said he’ll be back, and based on tonight showing so will I, ‘Bon Jovi Forever’ you wanna believe it.

The Set List: With a Little Help From My Friends / Beautiful Drug / We Weren’t Born to Follow / Lost Highway / You Give Love a Bad Name / Born to Be My Baby / Legendary (with James Bay) / Whole Lot of Leavin’ / Bed of Roses / Have a Nice Day / These Days / This House Is Not for Sale / It’s My Life / Livin’ on a Prayer / Raise Your Hands / I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead / Hey God / Keep the Faith / Encore: I’ll Be There for You / Wanted Dead or Alive / Bad Medicine / Always.

“With an ironclad fist I wake up and French kiss the morning, while some marching band keeps its own beat in my head while we’re talking, about all of the things that I long to believe, about love the truth and what you mean to me, and the truth is, baby you’re all that I need” by @parkeralang
