10.5.19 🤎 Seven years.

Heading back to The Parker Barn tonight because apparently flag football landing on our anniversary means plans change… but the traditions don’t.

The little details will always be some of my favorite parts of our big day.

The custom sweetheart table we sat at that night now sits in our kitchen—the same table our family gathers around every day.

We had already been popping champagne and saving the cork every year since our first dating anniversary, so when it came time to decide on a unity ceremony, there really wasn’t another option. We popped champagne.

That cork flew across the room and somehow landed perfectly on an empty chair. Maybe it was completely random, but I’ve always loved believing it was a little hello from some of the people we wished could have been sitting there with us that day.

And just like we had for all the years before, we saved that cork too.

Almost 16 years of anniversaries, almost 16 corks, and a tradition that started when we were basically kids and somehow made its way into our wedding ceremony and the life we’ve built since.

The flowers are gone. The dress is packed away. But our sweetheart table is in our kitchen, the corks are still being collected, and seven years later, we’re still us.
Plans change. The traditions don’t. 🥂

On Saturday I had the delight of photographing Bobby and Hanna’s wedding and it was SUCH a perfect day! I knew after their fun engagement session that I would love every minute spent with these two (and their families) and I was right!

Luckily the rain held off for when we needed to be outside so we were able to take advantage of the beautiful locations at @parkerbarnofficial ! Of course we HAD to do some with the spectacular veil that Hanna wore!
