Small pest. Serious impact.

Scale insects look like tiny bumps on stems and leaves.

#PlantHealth #Insect #TreeCare #ArborCare #landscapemaintenance

They feed on plant tissue, steal vigor, and can leave trees and shrubs weaker over time.

Light infestation: gently brush visible scale with a soft cloth or brush and soapy water, then rinse well.

Heavier infestation: horticultural oil can smother scale, especially in the young “crawler” stage before the shell hardens. Apply only in mild temperatures & never on a drought-stressed plant. by @parkwest.inc

Something’s been digging around.

Robert takes a closer look at the landscape and breaks down a few of the likely suspects — from birds to possums searching for what’s underneath.

Sometimes the smallest signs can tell you a lot about what’s happening in the landscape.

Enhancing what’s already there. ⛳️

At Amara Golf & Social Club in Las Vegas, our team enhanced the existing landscape with new trees, plants, irrigation, and natural elements designed to complement the property.

That included boulders imported from Arizona in a range of sizes, with some weighing up to approximately 40,000 pounds — carefully positioned to become part of the surrounding environment.

Existing landscape. New layers. Intentional details.

Shaping Your Environment.

70 palms. One very intentional view.

Near the Wynn Convention Center, our team installed 70 palms sourced from California as part of the broader project.

What makes them interesting is where they were positioned — they now create a major landscape focal point visible from the golf course, including Hole 17.

It’s a good example of how landscape can help shape the view, not just fill the space.

You don’t need extra water to make a Vegas landscape look lush.

• Vinca Cora mix actually hates extra water.
• Little Ollie as a hedge.
• Golden Euonymus for color that never needs a bloom.

Right plant, right irrigation, same water as a sparse yard. Looks nothing like one.

Save this before your next plant order. What’s one plant you were told couldn’t survive a Vegas summer?

COME CHECK THIS OUT: Mower's Mushrooms 🍄 or Panaeolus foenisecii

Noticing mushrooms popping up across your lawn? Chris explains why they appear and what you can do to limit regrowth.

Poor drainage, excess moisture and decaying material below the surface can create ideal growing conditions. Reducing excess watering, aerating compacted soil and removing excess thatch can help make the lawn less favorable for their return.

Tiny beetle. Big appetite. 🪲🌿

The Dotted Paropsine Leaf Beetle may look harmless, but from egg to larva to adult, it can cause serious damage to eucalyptus trees.

Swipe through to see its life cycle, how to spot an infestation and the different ways it may be managed.

Early action can include monitoring the tree, maintaining proper irrigation, removing infested foliage and cleaning up fallen leaves. More severe infestations may require professional treatments, including trunk injections or other targeted pest-control methods.

When a tree is severely damaged, declining or unsafe, removal may be the final option.

Always consult a licensed arborist or pest-management professional before deciding on treatment.

Spotted something unusual in your garden? 👀🌸

Say hello to the Ten-lined June beetle—also known as the watermelon beetle! While the adults might look fascinating (and mostly harmless), their larvae can be a real threat, feeding on roots and causing lawns, shrubs, and trees to weaken over time.

If you notice thinning grass, wilting plants, or unexplained decline, check for these hidden guests. Found one? Gently remove it by hand to help protect your landscape.

It may look cool, but this is one garden visitor you don’t want sticking around! 🪲🚫
