💐I couldn’t speak today in front of everyone. Cameron, my emotions got the best of me, so here’s a little of what I wanted to say.

💐This has been the most heart-wrenching, heartbreaking experience I’ve been through in my 23, going on 24, years of life. I haven’t felt like myself since you left us, Cameron. Truthfully, I don’t even know who that person is anymore. This is one of those things that truly shatters your world and reshapes your reality. Nothing will ever be the same for me or my family.

💐Me and Cameron shared the majority of our childhood together. Part of who I am is because of him, so losing him feels like losing a part of myself. We were the closest in age out of my siblings, and we were always together as little boys—playing basketball, playing video games, riding our bikes to the corner store, and even fighting like brothers do. We ate together, slept together, bathed together, played together. This is my blood, my little brother. We shared a lifetime of memories and real family love. 💪🏾

💐My brother was a schoolboy, a basketball athlete at heart, who showed everyone nothing but love. He didn’t bother anybody. He was a family man. That’s why this is so unimaginable. Not him. Not Cameron. Twenty years old… turning 21 next month. He had so much life left to live.

💐I’ve experienced loss before. I’ve lost family members, but nothing like this. The days keep flying by, and I’m still in complete shock, still stuck in disbelief that you’re really gone. Not like this. It’s beyond heartbreaking. My brother’s face is on a shirt. You see things like that all the time on social media, but when it finally happens to your own family… then you understand the devastation. This isn’t right.

💐My Virgo brother. ♍️ We dreamed of seeing our family thrive together and breaking generational curses. Cameron had the swagger of the streets but the intellect for those degrees. He could relate to anybody. That’s why you see people from every part of the community showing him love. He was a complex, versatile young man with a light that reached everybody. He was truly a star out here shining.
