For 25 years the Roadless Rule has protected acres national forest from road building, mining, and industrial logging.

Once these intact areas are fragmented they cannot be restored.

While exploring Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve, we had the chance to meet one of the locals—Chewy the turtle 🐢. What made the experience even more special was Chelsea, who (even off the clock!) went out of her way to make our visit unforgettable. She gave us time and space to photograph Chewy, shared a map, and offered thoughtful recommendations for places to explore during our visit.

It’s that kind of kindness and the magic of places like Weymouth Woods that turns a simple visit into a lasting memory. It reminded us just how important these preserved spaces are, not only for wildlife but for the human connections they inspire.

We did it… we got up before sunrise 😂
today, & headed to the beautiful @davidcrockettstatepark for a special volunteer event: walking shelter dogs in need of love, exercise, and a little outdoor magic.

From sleepy eyes in the car 🚗💨 to wagging tails on the trail, it was a morning full of paws, peace, and purpose.
