DRIVE-02

89.95 KG OF WASTE

17.355 KG RECOVERED FOR RECYCLING.

The second pilot drive for @theheritagecleanlinessproject , organised by @inkpotindia_ and @parvaah_ is complete.

And we would like to walk you through the journey ♻️

📍 Sultan Garhi Tomb, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi
📅 30 August 2026
👥 78 volunteers
⏱️ 1.5 hours
♻️ 4 recyclable streams
📊 19.29% recyclable recovery rate

And here’s what makes Drive-02 particularly important for us:
+16.3% recyclable recovery compared with Pilot-01.
12.35% → 19.29% recovery rate
4.97 → 11.57 kg/hour recyclable recovery

And for the first time in our pilot series, the recovered recyclable material was directly transferred to RIYA INDUSTRIES for recycling with documented receiving evidence.

What did we recover?
⬜️ 5.905 kg Glass & Metal
⚪️5.775 kg MLP & PET
🔵 3.710 kg Paper & Cardboard
🟢1.965 kg Fabric

But we’re not here to pretend the job is finished.
72.595 kg remained mixed/unrecovered, and that’s an important part of our learning too.

Every drive helps us understand what works, what doesn’t, and how we can make the next one better.
Collect. Segregate. Quantify. Transfer. Document.
That’s the journey we’re building at ILA Green.
Drive-02 done.

Drive-03, we’re coming for you.

From an idea to the field. 🌱

When I started building ILA Green, the idea was simple:

Can waste management at corporate initiatives and events be made more structured, measurable and circular?

Our first Heritage Cleanliness Drive with @inkpotindia_ , @parvaah_ and @official_dda_ gave us an opportunity to take that idea out of the drawing board and into the field.

📍 Venue: Mehrauli Archaeological Park, New Delhi
 📅 Date: 26 July 2026
 👥 50 volunteers
🗑️ 120.825 kg total waste collected
♻️ 14.920 kg recyclable material recovered
📊 12.35% recyclable recovery rate

We worked on structured collection, colour-coded segregation, category-wise weighing and impact documentation while learning firsthand what works and what needs to change.

And somewhere along this journey, our work also received a mention in The Times of India.

For a young organisation like ILA Green, being recognised while we are still building is incredibly encouraging.

But more than the recognition, what matters to us is the opportunity to keep testing, measuring and improving the model.

The pilot was also documented through an impact report, capturing the waste collected, recyclable recovery, operational observations and key learnings that would shape our next field deployment.

This was only the beginning.

Our second pilot has now been completed, and the learnings have been even more valuable.

More on that soon.

We're building this one drive at a time.

Successfully installed 5 sanitary vending machines at Government Girls College, Sector 14, Gurugram — one of the most basic yet powerful interventions that gives young girls the confidence and freedom to face a challenge that's stayed silent for far too long.

As an initial step, the machines are stocked to provide 10,000 sanitary pads to students, with regular refilling coordinated through the college's concerned department to ensure consistent, reliable access. Last Sunday, on 30th August, the Heritage Cleanliness Drive community came together to show up for Sultan Garhi Tomb, Vasant Kunj — the first Islamic tomb built in what is today India, commissioned by Sultan Iltutmish for his eldest son.

Together, we collected over 100 kg of waste from this historic site. With the help of @ilagreenindia, the waste was then segregated, with nearly 20% being recyclable — all of which has now been sent to a recycling plant.

Segregation is an essential part of responsible waste management. It ensures that recyclable waste can be recovered and reused, while the rest can be treated and disposed of responsibly — making our clean-up efforts more meaningful and sustainable.

Thank you to every partner, volunteer, community member and supporter who showed up and helped make this possible.

A mother's well-being shapes the well-being of an entire family.

At Govt. Model Primary School, Bhupani, we spent a meaningful day with mothers and children, bringing them together through simple, joyful activities that encouraged connection, creativity, and shared moments.

As part of the initiative, our volunteers distributed essential toiletry and menstrual hygiene kits to 135 women, reinforcing the importance of health, dignity, and access to everyday essentials.

At Parvaah, we believe that when women are supported with care, respect, and opportunity, communities become stronger. Every small act of kindness is a step towards lasting change.
