Drystone walls at Catbrook.
Fineliner on Daler Rowney fine grain heavyweight. A3.

I thought this one was mainly about the walls but doing the grass was strangely satisfying. Thousands of tiny strokes with the pen.

The walls near Catbrook are an anomaly for the Wye Valley. They're very thick and built without coping stones. Said to be built by Napoleonic prisoners of war...

Finished this one with a layer of very pale wash. It's hard to avoid overdoing the detail! I try to finish as soon as it stops annoying me.

A work in progress; Lavernock beach is between Cardiff and Barry. A fascinating beach with cracked pavements of limestone. I've got a couple of layers of ink wash to apply before I'm (hopefully) happy with it.
