Pascal Konan works on denim — bleaching, drawing and painting into the cloth so the ground itself becomes part of the image.
In L'arbre de la connaissance du bien et du mal, the tree is built entirely from human figures. Bodies branch into other bodies, climbing and falling and holding on, while a handful of pale figures drift loose on threads. The knowledge of good and evil, rendered as a crowd.

[#FondationBJKD - #Art]

La Fondation BJKD poursuit son engagement en faveur de l’art et des jeunes talents ivoiriens

La Fondation Bénédicte Janine Kacou Diagou (BJKD), conduite par sa Présidente, Olga Djadji, son Directeur artistique, @pascalkonan et sa Directrice Projets, Aya Kakaha a été reçue ce lundi au siège de @cotedivoiretourisme.ci par sa Directrice Générale, Mme Malékah Mourad-Condé.

Cette rencontre a été l’occasion de partager deux temps forts de l’agenda de la Fondation : le vernissage, ce jeudi 1er octobre, de l’exposition PERSONA, une exposition duo autour de la représentation de l’humain, ainsi que le lancement prochain de la 5ᵉ édition des BJ’Arts, prévu en décembre.

À travers ces initiatives, la Fondation BJKD réaffirme sa volonté de contribuer à la promotion de la création artistique, à la révélation des talents et à l’accompagnement des jeunes acteurs culturels.

Les échanges ont également porté sur les perspectives de renforcement de l’accompagnement des lauréats, notamment autour du développement du mindset entrepreneurial et de la valorisation de leurs parcours.

La Fondation BJKD se réjouit de la disponibilité et de l’engagement de Côte d’Ivoire Tourisme à ses côtés pour soutenir ces initiatives et contribuer au rayonnement des talents ivoiriens.

Une exposition duo autour de la représentation de l’humain.

La Fondation BJKD vous invite à découvrir « PERSONA », une exposition réunissant @n.da_boueh et SEY, tous deux lauréats du Prix NSIA Banque Côte d'Ivoire du Prix des Arts, respectivement en 2026 et en 2025.

À travers deux sensibilités et deux écritures artistiques, l’exposition propose une réflexion sur la manière dont l’humain se donne à voir, se construit et se révèle à travers le portrait.

Deux artistes, deux regards, deux façons de représenter l’humain : une même invitation à regarder autrement.

Pascal Konan makes the picture by taking things away.
He paints on denim. The first act is bleach — lifting the colour out of the cloth until a pale, scorched field opens where the image will be. Only then do the ink and acrylic arrive: dozens of small dancing bodies, scattered right across the surface.
Look at the threads running between them. Some join two figures. Some leave one figure and simply stop.
Konan solo show in 2025 was called Unfinished Symphony. This exhibition picks the thought up and carries it further.

PASSAGE Exhibition for ECOWAS 2026 Mid-Year Coordination Summit transformed the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre into an exhibition space.
⁠
Working with FB Group, who delivered the conference centre, and CA2O Architects, who designed the interior spaces, bespoke exhibition walls and display elements were integrated into the architecture to create a museum-quality setting for the artworks and heritage objects.⁠
⁠
Together, Art, Architecture and Design shaped a space for dialogue across West Africa.⁠
