Shift from reality to fantasy with Tracey Brauer's "Stories Untold!"

"Stories Untold" is a collection of oil and mixed media paintings that explores the mysterious space between realism and imagination. Primarily featuring mystical portraits, each work invites the viewer to pause, wonder and create a story of their own. Figures such as Son of Thor, a powerful Viking, Rey De Lobos, the enigmatic Wolf King and Lady Raven, a captivating woman surrounded by ravens, suggest stories without revealing all the answers. Rich color texture and symbolism create an atmosphere where the familiar becomes mysterious. Rather than telling a complete story, these paintings offer glimpses into imagined worlds, encouraging each viewer to decide what might be happening- and what comes next.

Get ready for a duo show featuring Atticxys Metals and Taylor Cleveland!

💡 Illuminated Sculptures Untitled by Atticxys Metals uses metals, fluorescent acrylic, and light to construct one-of-a-kind sculptures and lamp shades. Contemporary with Western and geometry motifs, this collection consists of unique builds with real home, modular design in mind. Atticxys Metals is known for contemporary jewelry and luxe homewares, and their work has been on display at the Downtown Oklahoma City Library and in galleries throughout the Paseo. Their jewelry is currently available at DNA Galleries in Oklahoma City.

🌵 Neon Southwest by Taylor Cleveland reimagines the visual language of the American West through saturated color and unrestrained brushwork, rooted in Cleveland’s upbringing in Altus, Oklahoma. Cacti, cowboys and skeletal figures surface throughout as symbols and stories carried since childhood, transformed into something loose, electric and deeply personal. Vivid fields of coral, turquoise and sun-drenched marigold hold a restless energy, at once nostalgic and unsettled, tender and defiant. The result trades postcard nostalgia for a Southwest remembered rather than reproduced: emotionally charged, imperfect, familiar and strange, alive in full, unapologetic color, shaped as much by memory as by place itself.

These two artists will have an open their shows next Friday, Oct. 2 from 6-9pm! Come see the works they've created! by @paseoartscenter

The Paseo Arts and Creativity Center has a new studio artist! We'd like to welcome Rico Young!

Here's what Rico has to say about his practice:

"At a young age, I can always remember being fascinated with art. My mother Joyce was an artist, I can remember her sketching police cars and other things. I was so amazed as to how easy she made it look to draw, so I started drawing as much as I could.

I continued to draw, as my passion grew so did my love for art. I started sketching automobiles, then portraits as many of my friends who were having babies. I just never stopped drawing and art became an addiction.

Later on, I got married and had two kids named Letrae and Malik and I drew portraits of them and gave them as gifts to their grandparents. My wife at that time started showing my art to others, which led to many of my first commissions. The lord has given me a gift, and he has blessed me in many ways of seeing how I bless others with art. I see art as a journey and I can’t wait to see where my career leads me.

My main inspirations are my lord, my mother, my family, a Russian painter named Slava, Nick Wu and Carrivagio. I’m still growing as an artist and can’t wait to reach a level in which I can make a difference and inspire others."
