🍷 11 nested AVAs. 11 different stories. And this week, we’re headed to Geneseo. Turns out, some of the best wine stories start with people who never planned on owning a winery in the first place. 😂 On a brand-new WWTY we’re exploring the Geneseo District with two very different conversations. First, Adam Montiel welcomes Tim Stevens and winemaker Ryker Wall of @mistyoaksvineyards into the SLO CAL Studios. An accidental winery, a fascinating little microclimate, and some pretty cool experiments with Sangiovese. Then, Kory Burke of @dresserwinery. From professional sports to tech to an Ironman, and eventually a little Zinfandel vineyard that changed everything. 📰 PLUS: Big national recognition for Gretchen Roddick of Hope Family Wines in our Paso Wine Wire. 🌼 AND: We’re heading downtown for Paso Robles’ Día de los Muertos Festival in our Travel Paso Spotlight. @prmainstreet 🎙️ WWTY 187 is out now! Pasolivo in Paso Robles has more going on than you’d expect. Taste the olive oils, flavored and unflavored, take in the views, and wander a shop full of snacks, spices, and other small finds. @pasolivo by @pasowine

NEW WHERE WINE TAKES YOU 🍷 This week, Adam Montiel sits down with Emily Saladino, wine and food writer, critic, and writer-at-large for @WineEnthusiast. Her recent piece on Gen-X and wine opens the door, but the conversation gets bigger fast. Who is the wine business actually paying attention to? Adam & Emily get into all of that, plus the slowdown in wine, trusting your own palate, Paso through a national lens, and Emily’s great description of wine as “beautifully inefficient.” Then, for the Travel Paso Spotlight, Adam catches up with Bryan Yates about @Bovine Classic, a gravel cycling weekend with serious terrain, a great community, and a deeply unserious commitment to cow jokes. @wherewinetakesyou @travelpaso @adamontheair by @pasowine

🍷 New WWTY 🎙️ What happens when you actually follow through on the crazy thing you wrote down years ago? This week our host Adam Montiel is joined by Dave & Shawn Kahal of Kahal Family Vineyards, whose road to wine country included Connecticut, basement winemaking, some memorably bad early wine, and eventually a vineyard in Indian Valley. We’re also continuing our trip through Paso Robles’ 11 nested AVAs with a look at the history and geography of the San Miguel District. Our Travel Paso Spotlight heads to From the Heart Animal Sanctuary, providing a permanent home for special-needs animals right here in Paso Robles. 🎙️ Listen to Where Wine Takes You wherever you get your podcasts. @kahalfamilyvineyards @pasowine @travelpaso @adamontheair @wherewinetaklesyou by @pasowine
