🫶🏻✨This interview between @colbert and @allthereis with Anderson Cooper lives rent free in my brain. What a gift it is to exist. To live.

👀 When I look back to who I was 13 years ago, I was fresh out of nursing school in my first year of nursing. Working my dream job, day shift surgical and trauma ICU at the top hospital in Chicago. On all the committees I wanted to be on. My career felt set. There was nothing that could stop me. I was so precious. So naive.

🙅🏻‍♀️Nothing… Except being mauled by a dog…. That is something I just never saw coming. Something that sliced my life into before and after. It would set forth a series of events that could only belong in a kind of terrible dramatic movie 😬🫠

This coming week is anniversary of the most traumatic thing to happen to me. I 💯 thought I was going to die alone in the stairwell.

Without a doubt I’m grateful for it all and that is its own type of mind F. I know so many folks who would like to be here, suffering and all.

I will tell the story. Probably later this week because people have so many questions (which I totally understand) it’s a complicated story.

To be continued…
