And... here we go! Passage's next production is getting ready to open in a few weeks. This holiday season, we will be producing the Trenton premiere of August Wilson's JITNEY. This will also be the Trenton premiere of August Wilson's work as a whole. The play will be directed by friend of Passage Theatre Zuhairah McGill and the cast will feature Passage Theatre Executive Artistic Director Brishen Miller. Set in an unlicensed jitney station in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, August Wilson’s JITNEY bears witness to a community standing its ground in the face of erasure. As redevelopment threatens to dismantle both livelihoods and legacy, a group of Black men—drivers, workers, fathers, and friends—build dignity, humor, and survival in the margins of a system never designed to serve them. It is a world Trenton knows well: where official structures fail, people create their own, and joy becomes an act of resistance rather than escape. JITNEY runs November 27 through December 20. Happy graduation—(or happy closing)—to our world premiere production of TEEN DAD by Adrienne Dawes! Thank you to our cast, creative team, staff, and especially each and every one of our audience members for having a hand in bringing this beautiful, true-to-life multiethnic family dramedy to our stage for the last four weeks. We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to share this story. We look forward to having you join us for August Wilson's JITNEY starting at the end of November! This will be Mr. Wilson's debut in the city of Trenton. Be on the lookout for cast announcements and more rolling out in the next couple of weeks! by @passagetheatre
