Passback’s 2025 Impact Report is finally here!

As we close out our second fiscal year, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for what we’ve accomplished together at Passback. What started as a vision—to create a circular economy for sports gear and textiles—has grown into a community-driven movement powered by incredible partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and the unwavering support of so many.

Impact to Date:
$250,000+ worth of sports gear redistributed
11+ tons of plastic and metal items recirculated back into the economy
50+ community partners in St. Louis engaged
$22 million in total community value, social return on investment created in preventative medical costs (*New research! See the report for more information.)

None of this would be possible without the incredible community of businesses, nonprofits, board members, employees, volunteers, friends, family, and even strangers who have cheered us on and stepped in to help.

Systems change is a team sport, and I couldn’t ask for better teammates.

Throwback to Project 9–12, 3rd Edition!

The real impact of Project 9–12 is best told by the students who experienced it firsthand!

We asked students from participating schools about their experiences, what surprised them the most, what they learned, and how they felt about the initiative. Their responses captured the excitement, appreciation, and impact of bringing technology, environmental sustainability, and sports together.

PROJECT 9-12: Technology, Sports & Sustainability in Action 💻⚽

On October 7, 2026, the third edition of Project 9-12 by JustUsed Tech, in collaboration with Passback, brought together technology, sports and the values of SDG 9 and SDG 12.

Ten schools joined us for a day of learning, connection, sports and opportunities.

Despite the rain, the excitement never stopped! Students participated in sessions on circular economy, environmental sustainability and responsible digital citizenship, gaining practical knowledge on how technology and environmental responsibility can shape their communities.

Each participating school received a laptop from JustUsed Tech to support access to technology and help bridge the digital divide. Sports gear was also provided, while LASEPA presented souvenirs to students.

The day came alive with a novelty football and volleyball match between Team Red and Team White, delivered in collaboration with Arrows Sports and Education. The stadium was filled with cheering, laughter and healthy competition.

We were honoured to welcome Mrs. Titilayo Oshodi, Mrs. Olabisi Shonibare of LASEPA, Mrs. Roseline Idehai of Ecobarter, representatives of Lagos State Education District IV, and other guests.

A special appreciation to Titobi Oreolorun for the vision behind JustUsed Tech and for creating initiatives that connect technology with people, communities with opportunities.

Thank you to Passback for supporting Project 9-12 with sports gear, and to Ecobarter, LASEPA and Arrows Sports and Education for contributing to this edition.

To every school, teacher, volunteer, partner, guest and student — thank you!

I’d like to take a moment to shoutout Dr. Heather Cameron, Director of Social Entrepreneurship at Washington University in St. Louis, who has been an instrumental mentor, advisor, and supporter to me and Passback!

She was one of the very first to ever see my vision, and I’m so grateful she has supported it ever since, from quite literally washing water bottles in her kitchen to providing funding, research, and opportunities that have helped Passback grow.

Last week, I was grateful to return as a guest speaker with her for an MBA class- Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School.
