A year ago today, we had our first day at work together. And although I don’t remember every detail, I do remember the feeling - an instant sense of familiarity and gratitude that you had come into my world.

You know those people who arrive unexpectedly, yet somehow feel as though they’ve always belonged?

That’s you.

In just twelve months we’ve packed so much in - roadside chicken rescue, limb bandaging, probably a couple of hundred lattes and chais, many late-night merchandising sessions to Gaga, a few too many baby bottles of Prosecco, work trips that felt more like girls’ weekends away, countless laughs, plenty of tears, and so many chats that somehow always left me feeling lighter.

Thank you for being my sounding board, my sidekick, and someone who can make even the most ordinary day feel like an adventure.

It’s a rare thing to find someone who just gets you. Someone who makes you feel seen, understood, accepted and endlessly supported. I genuinely can’t imagine this past year without you (personally or professionally)!!

Thank you for every laugh, every pep talk, every hug, every adventure, every time you’ve brightened my day, and for simply being one of the best humans I know.

Happy friendship-versary, I can’t wait for the next year of chaos, growth, achievements and memories still waiting for us.

Instead of physical or financial gifts to celebrate our marriage we are hoping to raise vital funds for rescued Piglets Ziggy & Luna.

We plan to create a large Piggy Paradise @owlandpuscatfarmsanctuary where they will be given the safe, loving and long lives they deserve.

After a video call with my Gramps on the other side of the word last night I’m feeling pretty homesick today, but also know how very lucky I am and deeply grateful to be living in paradise @owlandpuscat with my sanctuary family ❤️

It’s now the fifth week of lockdown here and I’m beginning to find out what works for me in order to keep my heart and mind as happy as possible in this weird world and current situation…

*Remembering this is only temporary
*Sunlight on my skin
*Being in nature
*Hot showers
*Nourishing, delicious and the occasional indulgent plant based food
*Practicing gratitude every day
*Making the most of quality time with those I’m locked down with 🐮🧍‍♀️🐴🌻🐔🧍🐱
*Brushing my hair & putting a little make up on even if I’m not going anywhere
*Putting on my @bodypeacebamboo clothes everyday because honestly nothing else feels better on my skin!

Yesterday thanks to your generosity we hit the half way mark for the campaign to save the baby boys and I intended to let you all know that the calves are now safe at the sanctuary............................................................................................ however yesterday evening the littlest one took a bad turn and we thought we might lose him during the night!!!

When we went into the barn last night to do their bottle feed, he was laid sprawled out on his side with a huge swollen belly and his eyes rolled back in his head. We immediately called the emergency local out- of -hours Vet , who arrived after 1.5 hours which felt like an eternity as we laid on the floor holding his limp body and telling him that he would be ok.

After tubing into his stomach twice to release the gas and feed him vital electrolytes, all we could do was check him every hour and keep him propped up against hay bales and wrapped in blankets through the night, willing his little body to fight.

This morning he was still feeling very cold, so we laid with him sharing our body heat and positive thoughts and called the vet out again as he refused fluids and couldn't stand by himself. So more tubing was required to keep him hydrated as well as some injections to begin treatment for suspected Septicemia, which we will have to administer ourselves over the coming days. We are desperately hoping that he will begin to bottle feed again later but if not the Vet has shown us to tube feed him directly into his stomach.

It's been an extremely emotional and exhausting 24 hours, but if you could look into his big black eyes and hold his little body you'd know that he's worth every second!!!

His rescue buddy watched over him with us all night and cuddled up to him to help keep him warm- we've named them Chandra and Surya... Moon & Sun. Please hold them in your thoughts and if you haven't donated yet consider supporting their rescue and care.

Please help us save these two little babies and provide them with love and safety at the sanctuary we are currently living and volunteering on @bodhiglowfarmsanctuary

They were due to be shot but the farmer has agreed to release them into our care. We need to raise £1500/$3000 as an absolute minimum to cover the initial care costs to save these boys’ lives.

Life update:
There is LOVE. Oh so much LOVE. More LOVE than I thought I’d ever feel and receive in this life. Enough LOVE that I think I must sleep smiling.
More LOVE than I can pexpress in words right now... but the kind of LOVE that makes you want to spin around in a field in the sun. #somuchlove #somuchgratitude
So grateful for this wonderful human being that supports my dreams and wishes from moving to Byron Bay to live on an animal sanctuary to stopping the car at the side of the road so that we could spin in this field together ❤️ taken in Byron Bay, New South Wales by @passionatelycompassionate

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has donated so far to help save and care for Chandra & Surya- it means so much to have your support!

Brave little boy Chandra is responding well to his antibiotics and has been standing up without support today and even head butting us for some milk, which is a massive relief and a really good sign- hopefully no more tubing into his tummy is needed. We are still monitoring him closely day and night as they can change so rapidly whilst they are so young. He's not totally out of the woods yet we are really optimistic for his future :)

We are awaiting the vet bill for his emergency care which will include two emergency out of hours call outs, multiple tubing into his tummy, antibiotic injections, electrolytes and poop testing- this will not be cheap but he is worth every cent!

If you haven't donated or shared our campaign yet please, please help us reach our target for these beautiful babies!!

You slipped your hand into mine on our first date and it felt so comfortable and easy, as if your hands were made to hold me.
❤️ I think I only managed a week or so before telling you I loved you and suddenly all of my future plans had you in them.
Every time I thought something would test us, you proved yourself loyal and dedicated to me, to us , and I couldn’t help but think it was too good to be true because it was all just so easy with you.
There are so many examples I could give of why I’m so proud of you- from pushing yourself to get out of your comfort zone; to how openly loving you are; to how when someone asks us a question on Veganism you can’t help but passionately and eloquently reply; to how you just know when I need a cry and simply come over, take my glasses off, put your arms around me and just say “it’s ok”; to you getting down on one knee in a field at sunset and asking me to marry you!

I can’t wait to spend the rest of my days with you 👫
As your best friend.
As your lover.
As your wife.
