If you ever needed to know what community looked like, you need not look further than Michael Garcia. We are absolutely devastated at this loss of life, a life that burns brighter than you could possibly imagine.

When we started this organization, Michael was one of our biggest supporters. Nothing made us happier than watching his beloved presence glow over everyone the moment he arrived at a game @brieuxcarre or watching him sling beers at @careforgotbeer and making new comers feel welcomed as he encouraged them to play with him at the bar. Michael knew no stranger, and no one was ever allowed to feel othered on his watch.

If you ever had the chance to know Michael, then you are truly a better person because of it. He did all these things while being a phenomenal father, partner, veteran, and friend. We will celebrate him each and every day, as we continue to model the beautiful standards of inclusion and warmth that Michael lived in every moment of his life. The world will never be as bright without him, but we will carry his flame with us always. We will love you forever buddy. by @pastnpresentrivia
