My boy Chris passed away last week. 51 years old. Gone too soon, and it was a surprise to all of us. This is another one that hit me really hard I’ve known Chris for about a decade. He came through Church by the Glades a few times, and he was one of my boys — we used to hang all the time at Smoke on the Water. I’ve been broken all week thinking about it. Life is so quick. Take the time to love your loved ones more daily. Call them, sit with them, laugh with them. Don’t wait until you can’t. Shout out to my boy Chris — so many of us miss you. On Monday I watched my wife in real pain. Sheila had some dental work done and it turned into a rough day — the kind where you can see it on her face and there’s nothing you can do but be there. So we went back to @thecitydentalstudio, and y’all... they took care of her. Like family takes care of family. Pain gone, smile back. And sitting there watching her finally relax, it just hit me. 22 years ago I married this woman. Who would’ve thought we’d see what we’ve seen, hear what we’ve heard, say what we’ve said, and walk through everything we’ve walked through — and still be here. Still us. Still in love. It’s NOT our anniversary. There’s no occasion. I just needed you to know, Sheila: I love you.
