Flower pickens - 16” x 8” on 300# rough arches watercolor paper in my @luchetti.co sketchbook. Well nah… I’m doing loose watercolor, but these ain’t no sketches. I’m discovering a new way to swish and handle my rigger and mop brushes. Jest enough to say fleur, but no more and no less. I am officially a picker! Lots of flowers, veg’s and butterfly stalking. .I love painting flowers, but lately, I just want to enjoy being in the middle of so much beauty, without having to paint it! People are among my most valued things of beauty. Forever enamored with every kind of person, I need to know everyone’s name, from sanitation workers to waiters, killers, street peepers an up and down life’s ladder. Pollinators - remixed. There’s so much of this going on in our little world at 16..Keeps me hopeful when I see the busy bees, dragon flies, as well as butterflies which have finally made it back from Mexico in this extreme weather. .Still. I miss my son. God I miss Jesse. .Don’t much care about showing art, although I dabble daily. Seems trivial compared to lives being lost without Christ. Yeah it makes me angry too. .Hey it’s not my job to make everybody smile. That used to come naturally because I was more alive. Now I’m tired of Menieres and the functions it’s stolen. .I know I’m poopy when I order clothes that I most likely won’t get to sport because I miss so many events. Some of those are simply “going”shopping for anything! I’m sorry but the hunt is everything even if I didn’t make a killer deal of the century purchase. .For that habit….I blame my mother. Definitely Fancy Nancy’s fault. We’d always have make up clothing sprees after a disagreement or if I had a bad hair day. I wanted jeans, so the deal was I had to get a dress she liked too. Well I wasn’t a fan of that one, but there was this other one that I really could love and wear. So… we’d get it all! Mom was generous. However… whenever I check my online shopping climbing…I wonder which PTSD event set it off. (When I could hunt for sea class, it was free, and the hunt, ocean, and mountain top time would ground me again. Good vitamin D, sea, salt eye candy, 6 mile sand walks and pockets full of booty healed everything.).Back to…And my mom never went down for breakfast without her lipstick. I loved watching her in her beautiful robes putting her face on. .Well I can thank the bumps and lumps that I am no longer a slave to that….but I do clean up pretty nice. .Thanks for listening. I think I have some linen pjs that just got dropped off. Pffff ( like who cares ) It’s a big dopamine boost for about 30 minutes. Xo But I could thumb it to the beach in those babies!!! Watercolor blooms and that’s what like about it!!! Sometimes I swatch, other times I just paint. Don’t let this fool ya. I jumped into the right hand page first, then I swatched behind another page. 31 purple fish Fall collection made me do it. I dint even check the names of the colors. ( sorry ) I simply call them yellow, pinkish orange, deep blue gray and so on. Please don’t misunderstand, I make notes in another book, but when I find myself getting frustrated… I just dip and paint. It’s all feels with me anyways. .How about you. A zillion zinnia - straight up and straight across my 300lb rough sketchbook. The Zinnia colors are surprising me everyday. They keep making new ones! The ultimate pigment maker and Creator of all things, never ceases to amaze me. So too… Look how a seed of an idea was given to @luchetti.co and against all odds and grains they believed and stewarded this idea until they made it happen! They did the impossible, and created a sketchbook where you can paint across the seam with no indentation, puddles or interruptions. ( Sorry sketchbooks with the Llama on them… my small one came twisted and bent and the pages weren’t lined up. Plus it took over a month to land here) So in my humble opinion is to , wait and nab a full size #Luchetti 8” x 8” with a 16 inch spread on every page for $49. and you will be holding a zillion dreams in your hands waiting for you to dive in. Bravissimo! So, Carlo, y’all make them, I will try them. For fun, go for whatever you can…,there’s lots of good ones like @arteza. But none do this thang:) It’s a very satisfying experience. ( even one page at a time.) Use it your way! .No I’m not paid to promote anyone! But I do care about this community. Yes when you get it.. you’ll be afraid to use it! But paint afraid…. It’s just paper, and by the end you will find your way, and be better on many levels for chasing your dream too! Oops how do you like my painting? Growing Pains - require a pause. They do the changes. Wisdom waits. That’s an anomaly, ? I’m not so good at waiting. But often find it’s better to leave a thing a lone, while I start something else. Do you ever do that? Do you ever find that your answer comes in the next little thing???Both paintings are mine. Choose Life.Peace by piece.Well yesterday was the one year annniversary of our son Jesse’s homegoing. There is a hollow space, like an empty room that if I open the door to it… I’ll fall in and never recover. But recovery was and is what we as parents and in ministry to the addicted have been committed to. It’s a harsh field. Loved and unloved ones die every single day. Our position is that they will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, and even if they stumble (one bad bag is all it takes) of the fentynl that has flooded into our country and continues to do so every single day!Families and those caught in its web never decided to become addicts. If you’re predisposed, 1 time is all it takes to sweep you into its clutches. It’s demonic. Our only peace is in sharing the Gospel with those who want to get sober. If the Holy Spirit, opens their hearts to receive Life, in Christ… then life will be theirs even if they die. .There is no “better place” without Christ after one dies. These souls have suffered so much we are committed to setting them free in the here and now or after! No the devil will not swallow them up and have them for eternity. .We know Jesse was set free & our prayers were answered, differently than we asked,but God always answers our prayers exceedingly abundantly beyond what we can ever hope or imagine. He brought Jess to live in His forever home with joy unspeakable. Joy, so eluded him in this life. Jess was kinda like the Starry Starry night song, too beautiful for this harsh world. On this thread we see so much beauty and please keep making it. Beauty is necessary & Light shines away darkness. Just walk into a dark room & flick a switch or light a candle. Darkness cannot stay! It’s impossible. Just look up at the stars. Darkness is split in every piece of sky where a seemingly tiny star is placed. Darkness only describes what light is not! Well the video is about continuing to make even tiny things that help me & you hopefully, feel fully alive. Regardless of circumstances, I have nothing but love for you! Finishing Well! Here’s an example of these pigments on 300# watercolor paper in a large sketchbook. The way I work is fast and loose. Then I hold or set the piece far away to determine composition. After that, I look for ways to direct the eye through the piece deliberately giving ( in this case) the coleus leaves attention. I do that by adding spots of unifying color, embellishing wishes, and unifying the piece. ( if I slowed it down… you’d see me searching and moving the brush around until I decide where to add those deliberate touches. ( the hard part is maintaining -the loose integrity and holding on my intention to bring repetition and unity. )For me it’s very hard to resist the urge to make wallpaper when doing that. One must be sneaky in order to make uncontrived embellishments! How do you resist the urge to paint the life out of your paintings at this stage?
