POSTS STORIES REELS

You were my favourite hello and my hardest goodbye 🐾

Two weeks without you, and I'm still trying to navigate this world without you by my side. The world feels so quiet without you. They say grief comes in waves, but when the grief comes, it comes hard. My heart aches because I miss you so much. You were my constant comfort and my best friend. The silence you left behind is so heavy, but the love you gave will last forever 🥰

Thank you all so so much for your lovely words, comments, and messages. It really means the world to us. I've not replied individually, but I've read every single one and took comfort with how much he was loved.

1st week without him has been very difficult. It still feels so surreal that he isn't here. The house is so quiet and empty. I know he's not here, but I still find myself listening for him. You were my bestest friend. My heart feels heavier as it aches for you. We all miss you so so much!

I created this page to share our adventures and memories and also as a bit of an online diary for myself so I won't be deleting the page and I will hopefully still post some pictures and memories we shared together.. so please stick with us! I want to keep seeing all your adventures too 🥰

🌈❤️🕊 8.4.12 - 1.5.26 🕊❤️🌈

Where do I even start.. words can't describe how we feel, we had to make the hardest decision of ours lives and say goodbye to Patch on Friday. To say we are heartbroken is an understatement 💔

Last Monday, Patch stopped eating again. He was struggling walking and was lying around with little interest in anything. We were hoping it was just a bad day, but as the days went on, there were no improvement they got worse. We had the vet come in on Wednesday, who said the mass had grown that much now it was affecting him internally, he had limited oxygen going through his body, and the kindest thing was to let him go. We wanted it to happen at home, where he loved and was comfortable. We initially booked it in for Saturday but Thursday, he couldn't even get up to go to the toilet and Thursday night he messed on the sofa which was so not like Patch he was so clean and never made a mess you could tell he was uncomfortable with it and that made ours minds up that we needed to bring it forward. He had a few accidents after that. He spend Friday morning with all his family and Friday afternoon he took his last sleep peacefully surrounded by love and everyone who loved him.

Nothing prepares you for the pain and we knew time was running out for us but it was a bit of a shock how quickly it changed and took a rapid turn. What ever he had was aggressive and took over his body and he just no longer could fight it.

You were the best dog. We had 14 incredible years with you and that still wasn't enough. Everyone who knew you loved you so much. You will forever be in our hearts and we will miss you so so much. In our hearts and minds everyday until we meet again, my handsome boy 🌈❤️ by @patch_the_gsp

I absolutely loved taking pumpkin photo's 🎃

Seeing others people's posts and pictures encouraged me to take Patch. It quickly became one of my favourite events. I'm so grateful for this part in social media as I have lots of lovely pictures and lovely memories that I may not have had. I've really missed our visit this year and our annual photoshoot 📸

My favourite pumpkin 🎃

As it's that time of year, i thought i'd reshare some of my favourite pumpkin pictures. Im throwing it all the way back to our first little photoshoot at home in the garden, and I got some dog stencils and carved some pumpkins. Keep swiping to see Patch keeping an eye on how it was going! End photo is the finished pumpkin 🎃🧡

Hi, it's been a while 👋

I've wanted to post for a while but truth be told, I've just not known what to write. I've also struggled to be on here for long periods of time. Although i have been sharing memories on my stories every day.

It's been 5 months without you! I'm still navigating life and feeling lost especially on day's which were usually our adventure days together. I can't believe where the time has gone, but it seems such a long time ago since I saw you 💔

I thought it was time you graced our feed again and showed that beautiful infectious smile you always had!

I love and miss you so much, my handsome boy ❤️💙

Every adventure was better because you were there. Thank you for every moment, Patch.

Normally, now I'd be posting all our holiday snaps. This is one i haven't posted from November 2024 on Skegness beach. We had last week off and had originally had a holiday booked with Patch, when he became poorly, we cancelled it. We did go away for a few days and did a few things we probably wouldn't normally do to make it a bit different but it was still odd being away without you..

We love and miss you so much Patch ❤️🐾

I love this photo. It's from a holiday in 2023. I dont think I've posted this one! How funny I was going to post then I found out it's National Pet Memorial Day.

It's been 6 weeks this week without Patch. Some days, I feel like I'm just about managing ok, keeping busy and getting through each day. This week feels especially heavy and a struggle and I've found myself missing him more than ever.

Some days, i smile at the memories, and other days, the emptiness feels too much, it brings me to tears. This week has been one of those.

Patch wasn't just a dog. He was my shadow, my adventure buddy, my comfort, and a huge part of my everyday life. Learning to live without him is something I'm still trying to navigate.

For now, I'm taking things one day at a time, holding onto the memories, and missing my beautiful boy every single day 🌈🐾❤️

Hey 👋

We've been quiet, we've had lots going on. Last Friday we were due to go to Wales for the week but last week Patch stopped eating again, we thought it was best to get him checked out with taking him away, sadly the vet felt a mass in his stomach (spleen/kidney) area. Without Surgery/biopsies there's no way of knowing what it is. A scan would show where it is and how big but nothing else. We decided not to put him through surgery at his age. Anaesthetic is risky by itself. We want to keep him as happy and as comfortable for as long as we can. After being given this news, obviously, we were undecided what to do. The vet said it was fine as long as we didn't do too much. So we decided to go and see how we got on and come home earlier if we needed to, we had a lovely long weekend away and had some lovely weather.
We did cut it short and we came back Tuesday afternoon as we felt it was probably a bit to much for him and he would be happier at home in his home comforts and back in his routine, which we feel he has. He's been enjoying the sun 🌞

He can't walk far now and every day is different but as long as he's happy and comfortable so are we ❤️

You'll be seeing a fair few birthday photo's 🥳

Patch went off his food again Sunday, he's not eaten a proper meal since Saturday. He's seemed a bit brighter today and ate little bits from your hand. As soon as we get his bowl out, he gets a bit spooked. I think he's connecting it to him not feeling well last time and trying to put medication in his food. We're hoping it's just a flare up and calms down in a couple of days 🙏❤️

Thank you so much for Patch's birthday wishes yesterday.. we celebrated Tuesday, so yesterday he had a pretty chilled day recovering. We had planned a big cake to go with the theme but i had to change it due to him being poorly so I made one myself using @theinnocenthound cake mix! 🎂🎪
