Where do I even start.. words can't describe how we feel, we had to make the hardest decision of ours lives and say goodbye to Patch on Friday. To say we are heartbroken is an understatement 💔

Last Monday, Patch stopped eating again. He was struggling walking and was lying around with little interest in anything. We were hoping it was just a bad day, but as the days went on, there were no improvement they got worse. We had the vet come in on Wednesday, who said the mass had grown that much now it was affecting him internally, he had limited oxygen going through his body, and the kindest thing was to let him go. We wanted it to happen at home, where he loved and was comfortable. We initially booked it in for Saturday but Thursday, he couldn't even get up to go to the toilet and Thursday night he messed on the sofa which was so not like Patch he was so clean and never made a mess you could tell he was uncomfortable with it and that made ours minds up that we needed to bring it forward. He had a few accidents after that. He spend Friday morning with all his family and Friday afternoon he took his last sleep peacefully surrounded by love and everyone who loved him.

Nothing prepares you for the pain and we knew time was running out for us but it was a bit of a shock how quickly it changed and took a rapid turn. What ever he had was aggressive and took over his body and he just no longer could fight it.

You were the best dog. We had 14 incredible years with you and that still wasn't enough. Everyone who knew you loved you so much. You will forever be in our hearts and we will miss you so so much. In our hearts and minds everyday until we meet again, my handsome boy 🌈❤️
