I stopped touring back in 2020 (a little earlier than planned, for obvious/global reasons), and I honestly thought I was done with it for good.

But this last year I have been invited out to be a part of some EU/UK touring with @rendcollective again, and I have loved every minute of it. Being a part of this road family again has been an incredible blessing and so different to how I expected it would be. I’m healthier than I was back then (emotionally, definitely not physically!), and without the pressures that came with full time road life/co-directorship of surprisingly busy organisations, I can fully enjoy this sweet season as a bit of an unexpected gift, an opportunity to really enjoy playing music again, and most importantly, being a part of the wonderful brotherhood/family that Rend is. I am truly honoured that they keep inviting me back out, and I can’t wait for the next run.
Most importantly, massive thank you to @jude._.thompson who doesn’t just keep things tied down at home so well, but actively pushes me to take on opportunities like these.

Proud of this one!
A little Double Dry Hopped Kveik Pale. All Cashmere hops. 4.5%.
Kveik yeast ferments hot and fast so this took about 4 days to finish compared to the usual 2 weeks.

Channelling the belief that Summer will eventually appear by making an English Summer Ale. Really chuffed with how this one turned out!
5% only using Centennial hops, and first time doing a pressure fermentation. Plus side, aroma is stronger, colour is brighter, no weird flavours from oxidation. Negative side, cleanings a big faff, which is why I still haven’t cleaned the fermenter or beer lines 3 weeks later.

Cheers to you, 2023!
Hoping this year will be full of playing more music (hmu), taking some photos, brewing some more tasty beers like this one (maybe I’ll even share the process?), a bit more paddling, and spending time with my favourite girls. Might even find time to Instagram more than 5 times too!

This wee brew is a 4.5% Pale with Simcoe, Citra and Mosaic, good and opaque, and it’s turned out pretty delicious after a few weeks in the keg 😋 taken in Bangor, County Down by @patcollective

A couple of weeks ago, @lowdenguitars released a new Ed Sheeran model with much fanfare, but behind closed doors they were also carefully putting the finishing touches to another great instrument to be released..
