I’m lost. Disconnected. I keep feeling like I don’t relate. Social media isn’t real but feels like 75% of our lives.
The thing that defines and determines someone’s livelihood is the thing that they need to step away from to protect their mental health.

People show me AI music and wait for my approval… I don’t know why. Even if I love it and tell them it’s great; What’s their appropriate response?… thank you?
Everything feels like a competition. People brag about how quickly they achieved something. I don’t know what that means either.

You have to be fast. Speed run. I’ve never tried to be fast, I’ve waited years for ideas to blossom.
It’s fickle. You’re vilified until you catch on and then the same vilifiers want to capitalise on your voice.

People are held to ransom by an algorithm. We’re saturated with same attempts at trying to hack it. Just mess and chaos all over the place. Everything is paid for, from the major labels down to the social media ads.
I’m racked with self doubt, ushered and encouraged to compete but I’ve never been the competitive type when it comes to art. I want to create with an honest heart, I DO create with an honest heart. I’m not for everyone, I know that, I kind of like that.

Playing live is beautiful, I pour out my soul and people remind me how important and powerful music is. Music is one of the most visceral and “human” things we have. Which is why I get sad that the world is trying to suck out the soul of the art form I love.
I fear that maybe all I am is music. Maybe I’m nothing more, nothing else, and maybe I just ain’t all that.

So many talented people being suppressed, too many charlatans in the shop window.
Everything is expensive, everything is getting taxed. they don’t want us to be creative anymore and some “artists” are cool with that. I’m not pointing fingers. This is EVERYONES first attempt at life. It’s confusing and can be heart breaking. my head is fried. by @patcunninghammusic
