Howard Finster’s “Love and Death Meet Together” 1981 (Number 2,104) is included in an exhibition I am curating for The Atlanta Art Fair @atlartfair

“One day I dipped my finger in some white paint and picked it up, and when I picked it up, it formed a face before I ever seen a face, and I turned it around to look and see if I had too much paint and there was two eyes, a mouth, a nose, and everything. A whole face. My finger looked like a face. And there was a feeling just came over me and said, “paint sacred art”. I said “Lord, I can’t paint. I don’t have no education in that”. So I took a dollar bill out of my wallet and started posing on the picture of George Washington. Some kids were around watching me work and that was the first time I felt I was an artist.”

On View October 1-4 at The Atlanta Art Fair at Atlanta’s Pullman Yards.

Huge thank you to the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Fulton County Arts & Culture for having the vision to host Saturdays opening, and to all 23 artists for the incredible work in the show. It really is a beautiful offering!
Thank you to everyone who came out — it was a great night despite a random lightening storm outside which only added to the electricity.
Special thanks to the late Gail Foster, Dr. Lori Grant, Pasheena Eaton, Tae Jackson, Mark Karelson and Tisha Smith. This show would've been so much harder to pull off without them.
Skeletons Become Children is up through October 17th — come see it during listed open hours. DM me for a private tour. Nothing but gratitude 🙏 ♥️

One of the real joys of being an art dealer is watching the progress of an emerging artist. I can think of no better example of this than watching the progress of Daniel Wingo. He has honed his craft by trial and error-by sticking with his own idea and turning it into something truly beautiful and uniquely his own. Come enjoy these @masonfineart Opening Saturday September 12 from 6-9PM.
