Ancient Egypt in rural Ireland? In the grounds of Kilcooly Abbey, Tipperary, is the pyramid mausoleum of the Barker family. The Barkers were the original owners of the state. The base is 12 ft by 12 ft. 🪦

A Living Funeral is a funeral held whilst the person is still alive. This concept became popularised in Japan in the 1990s where they are known as Seizenso (funeral whilst living) and were originally done as a way to lessen the burden of organising a funeral when someone has died. However they have grown in popularity and are often done to celebrate life and contemplate death - in 2019 over 25,000 people took part in mass Living Funerals in South Korea 🇰🇷

Glued to the audio guide at the Roman Baths! What a fantastic site, I never realised how big the complex actually is. The hot spring was used by locals before the Roman Baths were built, initially dedicated to the goddess Sulis (associated with Minerva). Under Emperor Claudius, the bath complex was built up and the town became know as Aquea Sulis 💦 There was different baths and rooms at different temperatures as well as a gymnasium 🏛️

Did you know that King Arthur and Queen Guinevere were thought to have been buried at Glastonbury Abbey? Two skeletons were found by monks in 1191, claiming them to be the legendary duo. The tomb they were reinterred in at the high altar was destroyed during the dissolution of the monasteries in the 1539 and their remains were lost 🪦

Finally made it to Stonehenge! The most iconic prehistoric structure in Britain 🏛️ The surrounding landscape is full of so much archaeology, burials - both cremation and inhumations (depending on date) have been found within the enclosure and in the surrounding areas 🦴
