Welcome to my journey. I am the child of an immigrant who is passionate about [global] cancer health disparities and improving health and life outcomes for diasporans. I intend to do this through clinical practice as an oncologic surgical pathologist, cancer researcher, and mentor to young diasporans who wish to take a similar path. I value love, authenticity, and respect for all. I don't know where this journey will take me but I am so grateful for where it has brought me thus far. Not bad.

1. Mixed Croissant basket- warm, buttery, flaky outside, soft inside, variety of flavors, delicious with no misses; two of each would have been better for sharing, cheese Croissant needed more cheese- 9/10

2. Lemon gateau- awful, custard was relatively firm and flavorless, shell also needed more flavor (initially tasted white chocolate but the flavor seemingly faded with each bite, which was strange), will not order again- 2/10, largely carried by the presentation

3. Lotus eclair- amazingly delicious, couldn't stop eating, perfect level of sweetness, custard was a lovely texture, icing was flavored well, enjoyed the cookie bits on top; pastry could've been a tad softer- 9/10, would go back just for this

4. Iced matcha with passionfruit- rather tasty if you like fruity matcha, nice texture that was not too thin and not too thick, presentation was also lovely, very fair amount of drink that felt worth the amount paid- 9/10

5. French onion soup (not pictured) - thick texture (didn't ruin anything, just not what I'm used to... I think they blended all the ingredients together), well-flavored with a comfortable amount of onion that wasn't overwhelming, served with two slices of bread with slices of melted cheese on top (texture of bread was softer than what I'd prefer for dipping in soup), cooled down a little too quickly- 7/10

Excellent service from our waitress. Food came relatively promptly. Great mood music and the decor was fantastic. A smoker sat next to us on the outdoor patio, which detracted from the experience- may be beneficial to have one side for smokers and one for nonsmokers when possible. My guest also got a weird vibe when witnessing interactions between some of the staff. Prices for most of the menu were ridiculous and limited my willingness to try certain dishes- this will impact the amount of money I choose to spend at this place because I cannot, for example, justify spending almost $20 on a bowl of mac and cheese.

Food- 7.5/10
Experience- 7/10
Disposition- would return mainly for the croissants and to try other pastries.

Ever tried apple iced tea? These days when I go out to eat in Ghana I try to go for at least one item that I've never tried or heard of before. This time it was apple iced tea. Definitely apple, definitely refreshing.
