National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is an opportunity to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools. It’s also a time to reflect on the truths shared by Indigenous communities and recognize the importance of listening to Indigenous voices and lived experiences.

We honour the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities and remain committed to creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can feel a sense of belonging and access the opportunities they need to succeed.

Summer may be a break from school, but it's not always a break from the challenges faced by students living in low-income communities.

As a Pathways Saint John alum, Adreya knows the impact summer programming can have. This year, she's returned as a student staff member, helping create the same sense of belonging that shaped her own experience.

From community outings to shared meals and leadership opportunities, summer programming helps students stay connected and build confidence for the new school year ahead.

On #InternationalYouthDay, we're reflecting on this year's theme: Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.

Every young person's journey is different. For Mohammad, finding the way forward hasn’t always been easy. But like so many young people, he was determined to learn, grow, and build a future he could be proud of.

At Pathways Verdun, Mohammad found practical support, encouragement, and a community where he felt he belonged. Today, he's building new skills through an internship at Northbridge Financial and looking ahead to continuing his studies in business administration.

No matter where they come from, every young person deserves the chance to shape their own future. With the right support and opportunities, they can begin to make that future a reality.
