“Journalling” is a word some can find uncomfortable but we can really call it anything we want.. writing down our thoughts, a brain dump.. checking in, you choose!

Here are some simple but useful prompts to get started on ordering those thoughts and turning down the volume of your mind:

- How was today?
- What’s making me happy?
- Did anything not feel good today/this week/currently?
- What do I need right now? (Love/time/attention)
- What am I looking forward to?
- Did anything make me laugh/smile today/this week?
- A list of the things i’m grateful for.
- What’s the loudest thought in my mind?
- What would I like more of in my life?
- What’s something I’ve been putting off?
- What do I want tomorrow/next week/month/year to look like

Choose one or as many as you like to get started, there’s no wrong answers 🤍

Hello! ✨

I’ve recently explored the scales of probability & possibility in more depth, in particular how our past experiences can shape what we expect from the future.

When something has disappointed us before, it can be difficult to imagine a different outcome. We can (sometimes without realising) automatically prepare for the worst, anticipate a certain reaction or answer, try to protect ourselves, or decide something isn’t worth trying again based on those previous disappointments.

I’m working on being able to consider that things might turn out differently, I’m learning to recognise when my expectations are shaped by what has happened before, rather than what is possible now and I invite you to do the same 🫶🏻

An invitation to thinking differently, to stay a little more open to the unknown, and to remember that the future has the possibility to look however you want ✨

Remember to ask more questions, is this possible and if so is it likely? Maybe it’s possible and unlikely? Is it Impossible or is there a chance of it happening? Really get into it, it’s so interesting learning about our pre-programmed thoughts.

Sometimes we look everywhere for the answer when really.. part of us already knows what we need or want.

So, my reminder today is that trusting yourself doesn’t mean always being certain and that’s okay. Learn to listen to your own thoughts, feelings and instincts first and trust that they are worth hearing.

You really are your own expert 🫶🏻

There will be days when you feel motivated and capable and there will be days when getting through feels like challenge.

And you know what, it is what it is and that’s okay.

Not every difficult day needs to be a lesson, a breakthrough or an opportunity for growth.

Sometimes you just need to be kind to yourself and get through it.

Keep going, there’s always tomorrow 🫶🏻

In therapy they call it “self-actualisation” But what does it mean?

To me, it’s the journey of becoming. Becoming the happiest, most fulfilled, most authentic, most aligned versions of ourselves.

Learning, growing, understanding and changing along our own unique path…

Your path. Your pace.

🌿✨

All the videos in this reel are a few from hundreds in my camera roll, it seems i’ve always had an interest in pathways ☺️

Overwhelm can arise when we have many things competing for our attention all at once. When everything feels urgent even the smallest things can start to feel impossible.

This is your reminder that maybe you don’t need to do more.
Perhaps what you need is a moment to pause, breathe, and make some room in your mind.

- Does this definitely need my attention right now?
- Can this wait until later/another day?
- Is this outside of my control, can I release it?

Give yourself permission to slow down when everything feels too much to handle 🌿🤍

Give yourself permission to imagine the best case scenario ✨

Maybe everything is going to work out…
Take a minute to imagine what it looks like 💭

Welcome to Pathways with Siân 🕊️

I’ve created this page with the intention of it becoming the safe space I feel we could all benefit from having, to pause for a moment and understand ourselves a little better.

We’re all moving through our own, very different seasons and I hope Pathways with Siân can be the reminder to accept that you can have a difficult day and still find something that makes you smile. You can love someone and feel hurt by them. You can simultaneously feel both grateful and overwhelmed, hopeful and scared, happy and sad, ready and terrified. And although conflicting emotions can be confusing, we don’t always know what we’re feeling, why we’re feeling it, or what we’re supposed to do with it.. this is where I can (hopefully) help!

Over the last two years i’ve been studying and developing as a counselling skills practitioner but now as I embark on finalising my qualification and becoming a registered counsellor I would like this space to be a place where I can share counselling-informed thoughts, and open up conversations about the things many of us experience but don’t always know how to put into words.

I wholeheartedly believe that self-awareness is one of the most powerful things we can develop. That the more willing we are to look inward, understand ourselves, take responsibility for our patterns and grow, the more positively we can show up in our relationships, communities and (without sounding dramatic) the world.

So anyway, here it is! A little space to pause, reflect, question, learn and hopefully understand yourself a little better. Remembering that the goal is never to become a different person just to be the best possible version of the person you already are. Everyone’s pathway to happiness and fulfilment is unique but I hope we can find everyone’s intended direction.

I’m so glad you’re here ✨
