The tomato cake, a perfect cake to wrap up summer 🍅

the essence of summer captured by a whole heirloom tomato. We celebrate ingredients in their rawest form, balancing authenticity with a touch of curiosity. Beneath this fresh, bold presentation lies a sophisticated interior: luxurious berry compote, creamy chocolate ganache, and honey vanilla sponge—sweet, but never overly so.

Pavlova, the ultimate summer dessert —

Meringue, soft and pillowed when raw, then hardening into something brittle and architectural once baked. The same ingredient holding two entirely different truths, yet both elegant and charming. Here, it cradles the fruit with quiet structure, glossy where the glaze catches the light — just like a classy fruit basket set in silver coupes, as if laid out for an old-world dinner party.

It’s Choux time —

When summer and winter collide, this choux appears - popcorn-flavored, stacked and glazed until it looks less like pastry and more like a tiny Christmas tree, popcorn scattered across it like ornaments. Mango drips down the side like candlelight caught mid-pour. Caramel popcorn was always my favorite taste of summer. Here it dresses up in winter‘s clothes, holding on for a brief moment, fully celebratory.

Jelly on a summer table —

There’s an uncanny thrill to trapping fruit in its eternity: held whole and exposed, every seed and cross-section visible under the surface. It’s preservation as spectacle — the fruit frozen at its prime, nowhere to hide. Cut open, sliced, served on silver, they still sit somewhere between a still life and a specimen jar.

Over the past few months, my talented photographer friend @cassiezyz and I have been building a series of shoots that present dessert as a vessel of memory and transformation. Through playful compositions and carefully observed details, we explore the unseen currents that shape us — and the lasting imprints they leave on how we create and see.

Bread and butter —

I grew up being told breakfast was something to eat quickly, not to play with. Butter usually disappear into a perfectly sliced bread, unseen. “That’s burning, I thought”, so here I let it be what is supposed to exist in my 12 year old brain, like a Lego, like snow caught on a cliff face, or moss growing wild on stone. I stand by my inner child, What’s meant to be simple, fast, forgettable becomes something I lingered over instead.
