Botox can help certain types of facial asymmetry, especially when one side’s muscles are stronger or more active.

Totally normal and you’re not imagining it. That tight or heavy feeling around week 2 after Botox is actually when Botox is doing its thing.

Here’s what’s going on:
•Peak effect timing: Botox usually kicks in gradually and reaches its strongest effect around 10–14 days. By week 2, the muscles are at their most relaxed, which can feel tight, heavy, or even a bit frozen.

•Muscle adjustment: Your muscles are used to moving. When they suddenly can’t contract the same way, your brain notices that unfamiliar sensation often reads as tightness.

•Skin smoothing: As the muscle relaxes, the skin on top smooths out and can feel firm, especially in the forehead or 11s.

•Temporary sensation: That tight feeling usually settles after another week or two as your face adapts. Most people say it starts feeling totally natural by week 3–4.
