A friend who is a Zen priest asked an interesting question the other day.

Will human presence become a luxury?

I made this image in 2018 while experimenting with AI, long before it became a cultural force. Looking back, the question feels more relevant than ever. taken in Tokyo 東京, Japan by @patrickcorrigan_

The cherry blossoms are in bloom here. 🌸🇯🇵
It’s a strange feeling—to be surrounded by so much beauty while the world feels heavy.

I’ve pinned a few images that might sit alongside this one.

I made this image in Hiroshima from my hotel room. After spending the day exploring the city — and feeling emotionally overwhelmed — I couldn’t bring myself to go back out. Still, this moment made its way into my project and book Swarm.

Since I’ve been living in Kyoto, I’ve been obsessed with reflections of the sun in water — I probably made over 200 images exploring sun and water. This is the one that made it into Swarm.

@leicastoresf has copies in stock now for those who missed the pre-release at the @harveymilkphoto book fair. Thank you @ramos_projects for helping with the final edit and championing the project.
