I missed the premiere of my short film at the Amarillo International Film Festival because we’re already busy making the next one. A great hang and a fun haunt with a fantastic cast and crew. Can’t wait for everybody to see this one. Thank you to @stageready_studios @mulatto_dad87 @cait_plumlee @azanderpage and Anaya Van Duesen for bringing this story to life!

The only lesson I took from art class in school was that I sucked at it (see also Music Class). But the most important thing I’ve learned in 47 years on this earth is that there’s nothing you can’t do, only things you haven’t learned yet. Everything is a learnable skill. I know a few faces and a bird aren’t that big a deal, but I can’t tell you how floored 10-year-old me would be. by @patrickcpiper

Once upon a time I had a job, making money hand over fist, and I got fired for all the right reasons. Now, I'm a writer, a musician, and a filmmaker. Nobody can fire me, because I work for myself, but rejection is just part of the process.

I've made two films and they both recently got rejected from a festival for a reason so good, I had to make a sizzle reel. by @patrickcpiper

I love both these instruments. Playing them together will take me a lifetime to master. I started laughing because the whole point was that I was going to mess it up. As soon as the harp comes in, the uke invariable changes, and I end up improvising something I couldn’t possibly play on purpose. The accidents are the best part. I just try to keep the beat and let the rest work itself out.
