Happy heavenly Birthday Dad, I miss your laugh, your hugs, your warm voice and kind eyes. Life is not the same now. The funeral is over as people go back to their lives ours is not the same. I hope you found the answers you were looking for, we will keep on keeping on trying to find ours. by @patrickregan_obe

For many years now I have been saying we cannot arrest our way out of the situation we find ourselves. What needs to happen now is a look at the bigger picture, reoffending rates are very high, prisoners sent into hostels, where drugs are available, those who have got clean in prison soon find the temptation to use again too much. The system does not work. I once told David Cameron, David Lammy and Boris Johnson did they understand the money I could save them, invention by XLP at the time cost £1,500 a year for a young person to have weekly support with 80 % success rate of change. Prison was 40,000 a year. Mental health services are stretched to the limit, some prisoners find it hard to access support inside and when they are released they struggle even more.

For the sake of victims, families, communities and the prisoners a review of what actually works and what can bring about long time change is needed. by @patrickregan_obe

So proud of my friend Andy Stranack on the launch of his new book, I have found Andy one of the most genuine people I have met, with a heart of kindness, I interviewed him years ago on TV and ever since then have watched as he faces his challenges with his cerebral palsy his cancer journey and yet still displayed compassion to others. Looking forward to reading this by @patrickregan_obe

“hope is a discipline and that we have to practice it every single day.” Because in the world we live in, it’s easy to feel a sense of hopelessness, that everything is all bad all the time, that nothing is going to change ever…. I understand why people feel that way. I just choose differently. I choose to think a different way, and I choose to act in a different way. I choose to trust people until they prove themselves untrustworthy” Kaba by @patrickregan_obe
