Nearly a full 5 months shooting film. I don't know why I didn't start sooner.

Yes there are costs.

No, not every frame is going to be a keeper.

But there is a significant, unexpected benefit to going analog as opposed to the spray and pray that sometimes happens with digital photography:

A major slow down. A shift toward intentionally instead of reactivity. A return to being in the moment instead of trying to document it.

If I never produce any impactful art on a 35mm camera, I will still advocate shooting film for these reasons alone. by @patricktennisstudios

I refuse to contain myself to a single "niche". Social media is wild.

Instead, I want to photograph EVERYTHING!

But if I were thinking like a marketer and wondering who the smallest audience might be, I would shake hands with and say good morning to any first responder or veteran owned business looking to solve some visual problems.

I've joined a few photography exchange programs this year that have been really intensifying my love for the craft.

That sparked the printing of my first zine, and it being shipped to the other side of the world. Singapore.

@nrl.visuals returned the favor and sent prints of her own. They are street photos shot on film from an area of the world I might not get to experience otherwise.

More than just seeing an image on a screen, I held work produced in the location where it was imagined. With a typed note and stamps from the other hemisphere, I'm reminded that we are all humans on the other side of this screen just wanting to share and connect.

Please consider giving her a follow and enjoying this art the way that I do.

I used to care so much about keeping Instagram as a place for a professional portfolio.

I "REELY" don't anymore.

Normal life through with a camera. That's where you'll find me.
