Occasionally, people will walk by my desk and see one of my Spotify Playlists named "Sweaty Pat". They laugh and ask me, "Is that your workout playlist?" and I laugh back, because it is and it isn't.

In the early 2000's my best friend was also named Patrick. He towered over me (he was 6'3", around 270lbs) and he was often sweating (probably because of the thyroid medication he had to take), so they called him Sweaty Pat and they called me Little Pat. Pat was 8 years older than me, had a masters degree in Nutrition, and competed in powerlifting and bodybuilding. I was only 23 years old at the time, and working together at a gym, he taught me a lot about business and selling. He also taught me ton about exercise and nutrition, and he helped coach and train me to a few competitions.

We didn't just train or work together, we did everything together -- inseparable. He was my best friend. This month, 9 years ago he died unexpectedly. The "Sweaty Pat" playlist was a playlist I made consisting of the songs we used to listen to when we would train and over the years I've added songs that I thought he would like if he were still alive. There are days when I miss him a lot. There are days that I wish I could pick up the phone and call him just to talk shit.

Be mindful of the time you spend with your friends and the ones you love. Don't wait to until tomorrow or for the right time to tell people what you think or how you feel about them, because you never know when today's goodbye ends up being forever.

A few people have asked about my Ninja Creami protein ice cream protocol and yesterday a good friend posted a photo of a powdery Ninja Creami ice cream, asking what to do. So here it is….

**Friends don’t let friends eat powdery Ninja Creami’s**

1. Core power (26g protein)
2. 1/2 cup of almond milk (or milk of choice)
3. 1tbsp of pudding mix for thickening and flavor (use whatever flavor you want)
4. OPTIONAL: 1/2 scoop of whey protein (if you need more protein)
5. Vanilla extract (if you want a mint chocolate chip flavor use a 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract as well — but no more than that as it will overpower the taste)
6. Freeze for 24 hours
7. Take out of freezer and thaw for 20-30min at room temperature
8. After thawing run the outside of the container under warm water for 30-45 seconds
9. First spin is on Lite Ice Cream (4min) — I always run all my spins on the FULL setting
10. After first spin take a butter knife and scrape down the sides to get the icy pieces off
11. Add 1/4 cup of almond milk (or milk of choice) and re-spin for 2min. If it is still powdery after this (though it shouldn’t be if you did everything correct) re-spin one more time
12. Add your mix-ins (chocolate chips, m&m’s, Reese’s peanut butter cup, Oreo thins, sprinkles, etc) and run on mix in
13. Finish and eat by @patrickward463
