Killer soundtrack for a killer movie. 28 Days Later will always be near the top of my list. I am beyond happy with how the 28 Years Later trilogy is turning out so far and I hope that folks get out to see it. #dannyboyle #28yearslater #28dayslater #cinema #film by @patrickwatchedamovie

My @eurekaentertainment collection slowly grows with the addition of their brand new combo release of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cloud (2024) and Charisma (1999). Cloud is an intense slow burn about how capitalism encourages unscrupulous business practices, and the disregard for those made to suffer as a result. Charisma, I have not yet seen, but I will watch anything with Koji Yakusho in it! Cure (1997) is Kiyoshi Kurosawa's masterpiece crime thriller that really has no match. Oh look it's our boy Koji Yakusho again! Shogun's Samurai (1978) is Kinji Fukasaku's first foray in jidaigeki (period drama), but in true Kinji fashion he uses the standard beautiful costumes, sets and political intrigue as a thin veil to be torn away, revealing the corrupt and brutally violent acts that serve as the rotten pillars holding up our ruling classes. The Secret of NIMH (1982) - Before All Dogs Go To Heaven, An American Take and The Land Before Time, there was the Secret of NIMH. Don Bluth's whimsical tale of sentient rodents trying to survive the dangers of living on a farm. OH AND THERE'S MAGIC! Watching this on Blu-ray was incredible. So many beautiful sequences with an eerie darkness and realism that Disney would never touch. #eurekafilms #cinema #movies #kinjifukasaku #kojiyakusho by @patrickwatchedamovie

What a week! I am exhausted, but it was all worth it. This being my first year going to the festival, I feel incredibly lucky with how everything went. I enjoyed pretty much every film I saw, and almost every screening I attended had a Q&A. The audiences were generally very respectful and quiet. I think the high point of the festival for me was having my question answered during the In Conversation With...Park Chan-wook. Having one of my favourite directors answer my question for 5 minutes was a wild experience and one I won't soon forget. It was also the only audience question they had time to ask, which made me feel even more lucky. While I'm very happy to be home and resting and not rushing around trying to catch my next screening or stuck on the QEW or Gardiner, I am excited to see what next year brings! If you went to @tiff_net , what were your highlights? . . . #tiff #neonfilms #parkchanwook #leebyunghun #brendanfraser #hikari #pauldano #cinema #criterioncollection #joeledgerton by @patrickwatchedamovie

What a magical evening, and a wonderful start to the festival! Sentimental Value is an exceptional and moving experience. A grounded and human story to which I think many will relate. I feel really lucky to have been in the audience for this premiere and to see the cast and @nobledanceroslo discuss the film afterward. A night to remember, for sure.
